Control Resonant: Welcome To Manhattan walkthrough

We'll begin this mission inside the Oldest House, talking to Emily Pope. When you're done, feel free to have a quick wander around. You'll find a wardrobe where you can change Dylan's fit inside, and can chat to Pope about any story-related queries you may have. Either way, when you're ready to leave, step outside.

From this point onwards, you're free to explore, and you definitely should! You'll find your first Map Kit nearby, which lets you uncover the map and find key locations to explore, as well as some tough mini-bosses to fight and your first encounter with the Mysterious Dog.

When you're ready to get on with the mission, head into your Quest Log and activate the Welcome to Manhattan quest. Our first goal is to head to the gate to Central, which is just northeast of the Oldest House.

Step 1: Find The Maintenance Worker

When you arrive at the gate to Central, you'll learn that the elevators up to the outpost need power, and the maintenance worker that's been sent to fix it never returned.

If you pull up the map, you'll see that the maintenance worker's last known location is south of the checkpoint, so begin making your way over there.

When you arrive at the waypoint, you'll find no maintenance worker, but instead a note on a fold-out chair. Give it a read, and you'll learn that the maintenance worker has left the job to us, moving on to the next power core.

In other words, it's up to us to get the gate back open. After reading the note, pass through the blockade behind where you found the note, and you'll notice a green table to your left with a second note. Read it, and you'll see a map showing a path of power cores leading all the way back to the Central Checkpoint.

We'll need to use these cores to transfer the power back to the Central Checkpoint, changing our objective.

Step 2: Move The Charge To Central Checkpoint

When you're ready, look to your right, and you'll see an orange cube emitting a white glow. This is a charged power core. To give you the rundown of how transferring charges works, Dylan can absorb a power core's charge into the Aberrant by hitting the box.

When the charge is in the Aberrant, he can then find another empty power core and hit it to move the charge from the Aberrant into this new power core. However, the Aberrant will only hold the charge for a short amount of time, so you'll need to be speedy.

If you look at the map below, I've marked each of the generators you need to activate en route to the Central Checkpoint as circles. Follow along the route, stopping at each generator to bank your charge. If you lose a charge, it'll go back to the previous generator, so backtrack to the previous core you hit if you mess up the chain.

The only generator worth hanging around at is the second one in the chain. When activating it, the nearby garage will open, revealing the fate of the maintenance worker. Phone it into Zoe before moving the charge back to the Central Checkpoint and activating the Power Core you find there.

Once the Central power core is charged, you'll spawn several waves of Hiss, so slaughter through them with the help of the nearby FBD agents. When they're all gone, it'll be time to activate the elevators to Central.

You'll see two sets of steps on either side of the Central gate. Activate one of the buttons at the top of one of these sets of steps to lower an elevator, allowing you to rise up into the checkpoint.

Step 3: Meet Zoe At The Watchtower

Make your way through the checkpoint until you drop down and enter the main office, where you'll find Zoe. After a brief chat, she'll tell you to take a look outside the window. You'll see multiple eye icons appear over the various points of interest outside the window.

Examine all of them to learn about the various anomalies and resonants lurking around the city, and then Zoe will let you leave with a new objective: Clear the supply route.

Step 4: Clear The Supply Route

When Zoe is done talking, head around the corner and look for an elevator next to a blue sign reading "UNDERGROUND SUPPLY ROUTE." Hop inside and take it down to the sewers beneath the outpost.

After exiting the elevator and activating the first checkpoint you see, look on the table to the right of the checkpoint. You'll spot the Status Enquiry note.

When you reach the sewers at the bottom of the elevator, head down the nearby steps and follow the path around to a large chamber. If you look around here, you'll see a charged power core on the lower floor, and a locked door with an uncharged power core on the raised walkway you're currently crossing.

While in this chamber, take the charge from the charged power core on the lower floor and take it up to the raised platform behind the power core box. You'll find a locked door down a tunnel that has an empty power core beside it. Charge the power core to open the door, and inside you'll find a Power Upgrade Point.

Take the charge from the power core and move it up to the raised walkway, then charge the power core to open the door and proceed through. You'll find a Ranger corpse to report to Zoe on the other side, so phone it in, then continue through the tunnels, taking down the small groups of Hiss you encounter.

Eventually, you'll find a room with three floating Hiss. Take note of the door directly in front of you. If you like, there's a charge in the arena we're about to head into that can power and open this door, which is a shortcut back to the base in Central. So if you need to return there, it's worth opening it up for future use.

For now though, head into the arena, and you'll be swarmed by countless Hiss under the command of a mini-boss called William. While he may have a relatively quaint name, this guy can make this fight a real pain, considering he rains down punishment while you face off against his minions.

Take the fight to William first in the sky, then drop down and face off against the smaller foes. When they're all cleared out, the corruption blocking the path out of the arena will disappear, allowing you to continue out of the Supply Route.

The path will take you to a subway platform, where you can head up the stairs and to the subway's exit.

Right before exiting the subway into Central, look through the door on your left, and you'll see a mascot with a traffic cone on his head. Break the box beneath this mascot to get your first Health Upgrade Point.

Leave the subway to finally emerge in Central, where Zoe will tell you we need to go to the Field Office to get a Security Keycard.

Step 5: Get A Security Keycard

If you look up at the skyline, you'll see the field office towering over the area with an eye icon over it. Ring Zoe to report you've found the office, and you'll get a waypoint to the Field Office.

Follow it to reach a checkpoint guarded by two nervous guards. Speak to them, and they'll refuse access. If you follow the dialogue exchange from here, you'll secure entry, opening the doors through the metal detector ahead. Push through it and up towards the Field Office.

There's a Map Kit you can use to unveil the Central map just outside the entrance to the Field Office, so feel free to get it out of the way before entering through the front doors and moving into the lobby. The Security Keycard is on the desk in the middle of the lobby, but there are a couple collectibles to grab before we wrap this mission up, so make sure you grab these:

Control Resonant walkthrough

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/control-resonant-the-artist.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) After seven long years, the wait is finally over. Control Resonant is here, bringing us back to the Oldest House as we battle ethereal entities and unlock otherworldly astral abilities. However, this very much isn't the Control we got back in 2019. Dylan Faden takes centre stage this time around, and with him comes a brand new melee-focused hack-and-slash combat system, a non-linear string of quests you can tackle in any order, and an open-world that reaches far beyond the perimeter of the Oldest House. To help you navigate all these new features, we've put together a full walkthrough, covering exactly where you need to go, what order you should tackle the game's various quests and how to find every collectible on the main path. So, if you're looking for some guides to follow along with while completing Dylan's quest, here's our full walkthrough of Control Resonant.
