Control Resonant best Talents to get first
Control Resonant's Talent tree grows alongside you in the game. In the Gap, you're able to spend your hard-earned Talent Points on unlocking, well, Talents. And you'll need to spend a certain amount of these points early on to unlock the next section of the tree. Fortunately, there's not too many decisions early on, but it quickly ramps up, and that's where we come in.
Here are the very best Talents to unlock first in Control Resonant:
- Dominance
- All-Rounder
- Extra Impact
- Perfect Dodge
- Extended Rush
- Clensing Rush
- Retribution
- Agile Response
- Sanctioned Retaliation
- Extended Falter
1. Dominance

Dominance is the first Talent you'll unlock in Control Resonant. It's your only option to begin with, so it's an easy first choice. But it's still got a decent amount of kick behind it.
Dominance will boost your melee damage for 8 seconds after you've performed an Execution. That means your Primary and Combo Finisher will get a 100% damage increase, and your Secondary will get a 50% damage boost. The enemies you kill using Dominance are also guaranteed to drop Health Elements. Executions are hard to begin with as you'll need to deal Falter damage to trigger them, but later Talents will help you build Falter to maximise your potential to unleash some deadly moves.
2. All-Rounder

After Dominance, you'll reach your first fork in the path. While both options on offer here are lovely, I'd opt for All-Rounder first as it'll provide you with a 5% increase to both Damage and Falter damage. You'll need all the help you can get early on, and this passive Talent ensures a boost to all of the offence you're dealing out.
3. Extra Impact

After getting All-Rounder, make sure to unlock the second option, Extra Impact, from the fork in the path as soon as you can. This builds on the Falter of the All-Rounder by adding 10% extra Falter damage from Combat Abilities when used. This is a great way to target specific enemies (smaller ones are best) and build up their Falter to perform an Execution. Then, you can use that Dominance on the other, larger enemies in the vicinity.
Both All-Rounder and Extra Impact are definitely worth having as Falter becomes a pretty integral part of your attack strategy, letting you charge up to deal huge damage.
4. Perfect Dodge

Perfect Dodge is the only choice you'll have at this stage. But there's a good reason for this, as later Talents will add benefits to this Perfect Dodge combo. For this one, whenever you perform a Dodge right before an attack lands, it will gain Retaliation, meaning your next attack will deal 50% more Damage and Falter.
5. Extended Rush

Now, here's a stage in the Talent tree where you'll begin to really wonder where best to spend your Talent Points, and that's because there's a four-way split. I'd prioritise Extended Rush first here as it'll make getting away from enemies a lot easier, especially when you need to dodge longer Resonant attacks.
Extended Rush makes Rush last three times as long, meaning you can get around faster before you unlock Reach (an additional talent only available through a Jesse sighting).
6. Clensing Rush

Next, I'd opt for Clensing Rush. This Talent means that when you use Rush (which will now be three times longer, thanks to Extended Rush) it'll remove status ailments twice as fast. As you make your way through Control Resonant, the need for this will become more apparent.
Soon enough, you'll start to come up against more enemies that will burden you with status ailments, especially Mold and Burn. By being able to Rush it off, you've got a better chance of it not knocking down all your health.
7. Retribution

I'd then recommend travelling up the left side of the Talent tree to unlock Retribution, which makes Retaliation deal 25% more Falter damage. Falter really becomes a great way to boost your overall damage using Dominance.
Your other option is to travel up the right side with Extended Falter, but I'd reserve unlocking this until you've unlocked a few more options first that'll help you more urgently.
8. Agile Response

The next option up the left side of the Talent tree is Agile Response. After unlocking it, you'll get a 25% Damage and Falter boost from Dodge Attacks. That's huge if you're performing lots of dodges by now (which you most definitely will be). Control Resonant wants you to get into the nitty-gritty, but it also means you'll need to do a whole lot of dodging.
9. Sanctioned Retaliation

From here, you've got the choice to travel further left or head for the centre. I'd go for Sanctioned Retaliation in the centre, as you'll be able to recover 50% more Power through this move. Your Combat Abilities will start to become a really crucial part of your attack strategy, and having more Power means you can deal out a lot more of it, dish out more Falter, and ultimately use that Execution to destroy enemies faster.
10. Extended Falter

Now is when I'd unlock Extended Falter to put together everything you've built on so far with your Talents and make it last a little longer. As the name suggests, it'll make enemies remain in their vulnerable Faltered state for a longer period of time. It's not clear how much longer it lasts, but I certainly noticed a difference, and it means you don't have to keep dropping everything you're doing to take out an enemy to ensure you get your Dominance damage boost.
With that, you have a good Talent groundwork to build off early into your time with Control Resonant.
