A bevy of new opponents in another ruined sector of the post-apocalyptic Kanto Region awaits them. This time, they'll need to find some generators to power a gate while chasing after yet another out-of-control Nushi. Big Walk Just Hit A Major Milestone On PS Plus

It's been nearly seven years since developer House House released its breakthrough title, Untitled Goose Game(https://www.gamespot.com/games/untitled-goose-game/). The company's follow-up, a co-op puzzle-solving game called Big Walk(https://www.gamespot.com/games/big-walk/), is out now, and it's already achieved an unexpected critical milestone on PlayStation Plus Essential. As reported by GameSpot's sister site Metacritic, Big Walk has landed with a 94(https://www.metacritic.com/game/big-walk/) score among reviewers. That makes it the most critically acclaimed game to ever be released on PS Plus Essential on day one. Last year's indie adventure-puzzle hit Blue Prince(https://www.gamespot.com/games/blue-prince/) achieved nearly the same score, with a 92 on Metacritc, but it was released on PS Extra, not Essential.. GameSpot's Big Walk review(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/big-walk-is-one-of-the-best-co-op-games-ever/) calls it a game of the year contender and hails it as one of the best co-op games ever created. "Big Walk takes fundamental and timeless video game concepts–obstacles and incentives for clearing them–and, through an intensely focused co-op experience, shapes them into something singularly rewarding, supremely mysterious, and totally unforgettable," notes the review. For anyone who is just getting started with the game, GameSpot has put together eight tips you need to know ahead of playing Big Walk(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/8-big-walk-tips-you-should-know-before-you-play/). Players who have already dived into Big Walk should check out our guides on how to get shiny(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-to-get-shiny-in-big-walk-for-big-makeover-achievement-trophy/) and how how to solve the 4166, 1899 puzzle(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/auto-draft/). Big Walk is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Mac.

August brings with it some pretty great additions to PlayStation Plus(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-plus-essential-free-games-for-august-2026/), including the critical darling Big Walk--which we called one of the best co-op games of all time(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/big-walk-is-one-of-the-best-co-op-games-ever/)--along with Dying Light 2 and Signalis. Sony recently upset gamers by announcing that it will stop supporting physical game discs starting in January 2028. The data clearly shows that digital adoption is rising(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstations-disc-based-game-sales-have-dropped-dramatically-in-recent-years/), but plenty of people still love physical discs. Sony continues to sell many millions of physical game discs annually(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstations-disc-based-game-sales-have-dropped-dramatically-in-recent-years/), but experts believe Sony wants to exert more power and control over users(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/why-is-sony-killing-discs-its-all-about-profitability-and-control-expert-says/) and is ushering in an all-digital future on PlayStation leading into the PS6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-6-everything-we-know-about-sonys-next-generation-console/1100-6533561/) era.

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Director Motohide Eshiro On Onimusha: Way Of The Sword’s Resurrection Of The Series🎮 PlayStation, Multi-platform

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Director Motohide Eshiro On Onimusha: Way Of The Sword’s Resurrection Of The Series

!Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/07/15/28d3ca2e/380onimusha10.jpg.webp) Onimusha: Way of the Sword(https://gameinformer.com/Onimusha) is the latest game to grace the cover of Game Informer(https://gameinformer.com/cover-reveal/2026/07/16/cover-reveal-onimusha-way-of-the-sword). As part of my cover story trip to Capcom’s Osaka HQ, where I played the game and interviewed the team making it, I also got to speak to Motohide Eshiro, the planner of Onimusha: Warlords and director of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny(https://gameinformer.com/product/onimusha-2-samurais-destiny) (and its recent remaster(https://gameinformer.com/interview/2025/04/22/onimusha-2s-director-on-remastering-the-playstation-2-game-and-the-state-of)). I published an in-depth retrospective about Onimusha’s success, its “Sengoku Biohazard” origins, and more based on my interview with Eshiro, and you can read that right here(https://gameinformer.com/exclusive-interview/2026/07/23/a-look-back-on-the-first-two-onimusha-games-with-planner-and), but I also spoke to him about watching this series return after a 20-year hiatus(https://gameinformer.com/exclusive-interview/2026/07/20/why-2026-was-the-year-to-bring-onimusha-back-after-a-20-year-gap). Though he’s not officially working on Way of the Sword, he works at Capcom in a producer role, supporting up-and-coming producers working on various projects at the publisher-developer. !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/07/23/db966a7e/Eshiro%20Header.jpg.webp) Game Informer Motohide Eshiro Sitting beside Way of the Sword director Satoru Nihei, Eshiro tells me he’s been “very surprised and impressed” with the way video game graphics, particularly across the Onimusha series, have evolved alongside the action genre over the past two decades since Onimusha’s start. He also believes Nihei and the rest of the Way of the Sword team have nailed the swordplay action. “I feel that one of the strengths of it is the swordplay,” Eshiro says. “In particular, I found it was quite an interesting evolution from the base game, but also, maintaining elements like the Issen, that satisfying feel of pulling it off, and the back and forth of Japanese swordplay – I feel they’ve done a really good job of capturing that feeling and creating a bit more of a realistic start of the swordplay action.” There is a clear but polite embarrassment in the room from Nihei, as he listens to Eshiro discuss Way of the Sword’s strengths, and it’s endearing to see. Nihei refers to Eshiro as a legend and is happy to hear he thinks Way of the Sword is satisfying in its action. “When we have legends like Eshiro check out the game, I definitely feel nervous,” he says. “Are they going to be like, ‘What are you doing here?’ There’s definitely a bit of pressure, but obviously I look forward to hearing what they have to say about the game.” !Game Informer News(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/07/15/8a80e229/380onimusha20.jpg.webp) Delving further into his impressions, Eshiro says he is very impressed by what the Way of the Sword team has accomplished with today's technology. “Coming from someone involved with the past titles, I am very impressed with that and am really happy to see the project in good hands,” he adds. “I’m very excited for people to get their hands on the game.” Ever the studio man, Eshiro closes out his thoughts by saying if someone is excited about Way of the Sword and wants to learn more about the series, “I would love for people to check out the Onimusha 1 and 2 remasters to see how the series has changed over these 20 years.” I actually played through both remasters in the lead-up to this cover story trip for Way of the Sword, and though I loved the games as a child, I was surprised to see how well they hold up. Onimusha: Warlords, in particular, remains a fascinating game; it really is “Sengoku Biohazard,” the first game’s codename, à la a Resident Evil game (even set in a singular location like Spencer Mansion) but with samurai instead of agents and swords instead of guns. Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny ups the ante, expanding the game’s scale, complete with a wide-spanning friendship system and multiple branching paths that are still intriguing pieces of game design history today. All of this is to say, I echo Eshiro’s thoughts: Give Onimusha: Warlords and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny a go if you’re waiting for Way of the Sword and in need of more swordplay action. I’ll be diving deeper into Capcom’s return to Onimusha as part of Game Informer’s month of Way of the Sword coverage. We’ll be publishing exclusive gameplay and behind-the-scenes videos (including a Rapid-Fire Interview) on the Game Informer YouTube channel(https://www.youtube.com/@gameinformer) as well. Keep an eye on the Onimusha: Way of the Sword coverage hub(https://gameinformer.com/Onimusha) so you don’t miss any of it. Beast of Reincarnation: Chapter One walkthrough

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/emma-bor.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Beast of Reincarnation(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/beast-of-reincarnation) kicks off with a fast-paced introduction to Emma and Koo's combat skills, along with a dive into the Ogouchi Buffer Zone, a large map with many secrets to uncover and just as many Golems to slay. There's much to learn in this first chapter when it comes to mastering Emma's hair-extending abilities and parry capabilities, and even though the main story quests are relatively straightforward, it's very easy to get lost in the contours of the map as you chase down the Nushi who's destroying these once-tranquil woods. This guide serves as a walkthrough for Chapter One of Beast of Reincarnation, giving you an easy-to-follow checklist of how to tackle the Ogouchi Buffer Zone. We'll also briefly touch on the game's Prologue. Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/beast-of-reincarnation-chapter-one-prologue-walkthrough)

Beast Of Reincarnation: All Keeper Golems

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/emma-talks-with-golem.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) The post-apocalyptic zones of Beast of Reincarnation(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/beast-of-reincarnation) hide many secrets within their nature-reclaimed depths. Chief among these are Golem constructs designed to answer certain questions. Speaking with them will reveal Exploration Data, which are directions that lead to hidden weapons, manuals, and other resources that will help Emma and Koo on their quest. The Golems programmed to answer questions are usually called Keeper Golems, and they die after they've addressed your inquiry. There are exceptions - we've run into at least one Rusted Golem who answered a question and didn't expire immediately after, and we've listed it here as well for the sake of accuracy. These Golems are all hidden in out-of-the-way places, but the Exploration Data they provide is well worth the search. In this guide, we'll list the locations of all Keeper Golems and Exploration Data in Beast of Reincarnation, providing maps and screenshots to ensure that you won't get lost searching for these vine-encrusted robots of old and the rewards they hint at.
