Overview & Key Takeaways

The "Power Lines" quest in Control Resonant is full of puzzles involving tuning devices. Here's how to reroute power to each station.

The "Power Lines**" quest** in Control Resonant will have you going into subway stations and positioning tuning forks in order to reroute power.

Now, you may be thinking, "What do tuning forks have to do with power?" And you would be right, but this is the world of Control. The power-calibrating tuning forks are not of our world, but you must place them in their correct spots if you wish to complete the quest.

Here's how to complete the "Power Lines" quest in Control Resonant and reroute the power to every station.

'Power Lines' quest walkthrough in Control Resonant

"Power Lines" is unlocked after you complete the "Arish's Briefing" quest where you speak to Arish at the Field Office. He'll tell you about his plan on using resonants to fight back, but it needs a lot of power. Maintenance teams were sent out, but as always, they've disappeared โ€” making you the only person fit for the job.During the quest, you'll complete the following objectives:

  1. Reroute Perimeter Station
  2. Reroute East Park Station
  3. Reroute Factory Station
  4. Reroute the Vanished Station

It's important to note that you can reroute Perimeter, East Park, and Factory Station in any order you'd like. We chose this order because of the stations' proximity to the Field Office.

Below, we provide a full explanation of how to complete every step of the "Power Lines" quest.

How to reroute Perimeter Station in Control Resonant

Perimeter Station is located on the road just southeast of the Field Office. When you approach the stairs, enemies will spawn blocking them off. Defeat them and head down the stairs on either side of the road.

Continue onto the subway platform where you'll find a large tuning fork contraption, an audio log, but most importantly, a couple notes. The notes tell you that you must place three calibration units inside the correct yellow squares, and then activate the tuning device. For Perimeter Station, you must place the calibration units in the spot that is closest to the tuning device, and the two spots that are the farthest.

The first two calibration units can be found close by:

  • Head up the stairs to the north to find the first unit, and put it into the square next to it.
  • Drop onto the train tracks and go south into the moldy area to find the second unit. Pick it up and place it into the square next to the tuning device.

The third calibration unit needs a power core. Look to the northern side of the train tracks where you'll see an uncharged power core. Go up the stairs to the south, hit the charged power core, and quickly take it to the uncharged one on the northern tracks. If you're struggling to make it in time, we recommend getting the "Extended Rush" talent to increase your sprint time.

Once successful, a door will open and there'll be a calibration unit inside. Now, you need to take this to the farthest square from the tuning device, which happens to be the door that the power core opened before you took the charge away. So, go back up the southern stairs and place the unit just outside. Hit the power core on the tracks, take the charge back up the stairs, hit the power core up here, and place the unit into the square inside.

Now, you should have a unit in the room upstairs to the south, at the top of the stairs to the north, and in the closest square to the tuning device. Turn on the tuning device to finish Perimeter Station.

However, when you go up the stairs again, you'll hear Dr. Florez speaking out of an intercom system. If you interact with it, you'll hear nothing but static. Don't worry about it for now, and head over to the next station.

How to reroute East Park Station in Control Resonant

East Park Station is located in the southern corner of the Central zone, just west of a gas station. Like the other stations, you'll need to defeat the enemies outside to get in.

Before you make it to the platform, you'll reach an intersection in the station. There will be a calibration unit locked behind a gate on your left, and a free calibration unit to pick up on your right. Grab the one on the right and take it downstairs.

Place it anywhere on the floor, break the clumps of mold, and read the notes. One will include the same instructions that you found in Perimeter Station, while the other will give specific tips for East Park Station. For this station, you'll need turn on the tuning device to teleport away.

For now, place the two tuning devices on the platform into any of the squares. Then, use the tuning device three times. On the third use, you'll teleport into the room with the calibration unit. Hit the electrical box with the red light to open the gate, and take the calibration unit to the last square. Activate the tuning device one last time to complete East Park Station.

You'll hear Dr. Florez on the intercom again, but this time if you interact with it, she'll reply. Chat with her and Clarke, and then head off to the third station.

How to reroute Factory Station in Control Resonant

Factory Station is found on the intersection just northwest of the Patterned Factory. Defeat the moldy enemies outside and head on in.

After you go inside, there will be a calibration unit in one of the stores ahead of you. Grab it and place it inside the square just at the bottom of the stairs.

Read the note on the bench near the tuning device, where you'll learn that all the calibration machines (units and tuning device) must be in a straight line. With the first unit at the bottom of the stairs already, you have one complete.

For the other two:

  • one is on top of the subway car to the west
  • one is behind the southern stairs

Take the two calibration units and place them in the squares between the one at the bottom of the stairs and the tuning device. Activate the tuning device, which will start a cutscene (if you followed the same order as this guide).

How to reroute the Vanished Station in Control Resonant

After you activate the device and go up the stairs, you'll realize that the exit has turned into a wall. The intercom will start up shortly after, with Clarke freaking out and Dr. Florez telling you that he ran off.

To get to them, follow the left tracks to the south. Defeat the enemies that spawn, and continue down the tracks, where you'll find Clarke's body. Pick up his ID badge if you're looking to collect every collectible. Keep following the path until you reach the platform for the Vanished Station.

Read the note on the bench to learn that there are two platforms: A and B. Each platform needs two calibration units, and A must be turned on first. Additionally, like East Park Station, the tuning device here will teleport you away.

How to calibrate Platform A

There's nothing you can do immediately on Platform A, so use the tuning device to teleport to Platform B. After you teleport, turn to the left and read the note on the ground. You'll learn that mold is attracted to electricity, and the mold damaged the cables on Platform B. Go up the stairs and read the note next to the floodlight, which will teach you that floodlights make mold grow faster.

Turn around to find two power cores: one charged and one uncharged. Swap the charge over to the uncharged core, and head inside the now open room to find a calibration unit and a health upgrade point. Bring this calibration unit down to Platform B for now. Then, break the mold by the metal door, which will open to reveal the civilian survivors, Dr. Florez, and two calibration units.

Pick up one of the calibration units and turn right out of the hallway. You'll run into another metal door, but you can open this one by hitting the electrical box with the red light. Continue on down the hallway with the calibration unit, and you'll end up back on Platform A. Place the unit into the yellow square by the bottom of the stairs (not the square with the big A in it).

Now, you need to charge the power core on Platform A. Go back up the stairs, hit the power core, and then hit the power core on Platform A. This will turn on the floodlight, making mold grow on top of the other square. However, this also opens the gate at the top of the north stairs, so you can get the calibration unit that was locked behind a gate.

Hit the power core again and take the electricity to either of the cubes upstairs. Go back to platform A, break the mold, and put the calibration unit into the square. Then, turn on the tuning device on Platform A to finish calibrating it.

How to calibrate Platform B

Go back up the stairs, hit the charged power core, and then hit the uncharged power core on Platform B. This will turn on the floodlights, growing mold in four different spots: two spots on the cables and the two blank squares. Don't break the mold on the cables. The mold is connecting the destroyed cables, powering on the tuning device.

Once the mold is grown, turn off both power cores on Platform B. Take the charges upstairs to the two other cores. While you're up there, grab the last calibration unit in the room with the survivors and bring it down to Platform B.

With both calibration units on Platform B, you're now free to destroy the mold on the sides of the platform. These were the mold clusters growing on top of the squares. Place the calibration units into the squares, and activate the tuning device.

Defeat the enemies that spawn, and go talk to Dr. Florez to complete the "Power Lines" quest.
