A pro CS2 player told me he ditched his Superstrike gaming mouse for the older Superlight 2 because it was 'inconsistent'

"Now I use the Superlight 2. I used [the Superstrike] before, when everyone used it... I feel like the Superstrike, sometimes it's good, but it's inconsistent.

Afro [a teammate] told me—the AWP-er—that the mouse weight was not correct, that it was more overweight.

For me, maybe that was why, but I didn't feel it at all. I liked that you control the clicks, but for me, sometimes it was very good, and sometimes I didn't like it at all."

I found yxngstxr's candidness fantastic, here, considering we were at a Logitech G Play event when he said these words to me—an event surrounding the launch of the X3 Superstrike, no less. I trusted what he was saying: he liked the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike and tried it for a while, but found it inconsistent, and had heard about it having a front-weighted balance.

The front balance is something I'd noticed, and it seems Logitech has, too, because the new X3 Superstrike has its weighting more centrally balanced—one of the biggest upgrades to the new one. It will be interesting to see whether yxngstxr switches to the X3 now.

Another CS2 pro, Oscar 'Azuwu' Bell, reminded me: "M0nesy [one of the best CS2 players], before the major, he was on the Superstrike, and for the major he went back to the Superlight."

For my part, I tend to think that shape is king and whatever fits your hand and your grip most comfortably is what will serve you better. Which is in part why I'm hoping that Logitech releases more mouse shapes with the Superstrike's HITS system in there. I did ask Logi about this—perhaps a 'Dex' shape—but the company wouldn't say yes. Perhaps notably, I didn't get a 'no', either.
