Microsoft is starting to test some new Xbox console features with Insiders. Testers will be able to try out custom Xbox boot animations from the past, more personalization options for badges, a new local search feature, improved Remote Play quality, the ability to download while you play on cloud, and clearer voice chat.

Xbox testers will be able to pick between the original Xbox One boot screen, the Xbox One X startup animation, the original Xbox Series X / S boot, and the new “we are Xbox” boot animation. Unfortunately you won’t be able to select the original Xbox or Xbox 360 boot animations, it’s only Xbox One onwards.

The new local search feature is designed to find games and achievements in large lists. “Available in My games & apps, official club achievement lists, and profile achievement history, local search works alongside existing filters and sorting options to help players find what they’re looking for faster,” explains the Xbox team.

Xbox Remote Play is getting support for up to 1440p resolution and improved bitrates on Xbox Series X / S consoles. If you use Xbox Cloud Gaming, you’ll also be able to allow downloads to continue in the background while you stream games. Downloads will still automatically throttle “as needed,” though.

Xbox Series X / S owners will also be able to test Voice Clarity, a feature that “helps reduce everyday background noise.” It sounds a lot like the Voice Clarity feature that’s part of Windows 11, which eliminates echo and other background noise. “Voice Clarity will be enabled by default in party chat and in most games released since 2020,” says the Xbox team.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition Is Coming To Nintendo Switch 2 Next Year

!Kingdom Come Deliverance II Review Warhorse Studios Deep Silver Game Informer Review(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2025/03/17/5734f716/kcd2keyarttextless.jpg.webp) Developer Warhorse Studios is bringing Kingdom Come: Deliverance II(https://gameinformer.com/product/kingdom-come-deliverance-ii) Royal Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 next year. It will feature all base content, premium story expansions, exclusive gear, and a bonus questline. There's no word on exactly when this massive RPG will hit the Switch 2, however – just that it's coming sometime in 2027. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in February of last year, and became one of Game Informer's favorite games of 2025(https://gameinformer.com/best-of-2025/2025/12/16/the-top-ten-games-of-2025). You can read why we gave it a 9.5 out of 10 in Game Informer's Kingdom Come: Deliverance II review here(https://gameinformer.com/review/kingdom-come-deliverance-ii/a-medieval-day-epic). There's no word on how the game will run on Switch 2, but Warhorse's previously released Switch 2 port of Kingdom Come: Deliverance (the first game) runs fine, so hopefully the sequel runs as well or better. Check it out in action in the Switch 2 trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition below:

Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Nintendo Switch 2 This December

!Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date December 4(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/09/09/f6fc18bd/monhun01.jpg.webp) Capcom is bringing Monster Hunter Wilds(https://gameinformer.com/product/monster-hunter-wilds) to Nintendo Switch 2 this December. Revealed during today's Nintendo Direct, the 2025 monster-hunting action game that originally launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will finally make its way to Nintendo's latest handheld-hybrid console. This version launches on December 4 and includes all previously released updates for Monster Hunter Wilds. Alongside the launch, Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 will feature local play so you and your friends can play together. With today's news, we also got our first big look at Monster Hunter Wilds actually running on the console and, perhaps unsurprisingly, given how well Capcom's other Switch 2 releases run, like Resident Evil Requiem(https://gameinformer.com/review/resident-evil-requiem/a-sublime-sepulchre) and Pragmata(https://gameinformer.com/review/pragmata/hack-and-blast), the game seems to be running great. Plus, the game's upcoming 2027 expansion, Ascendance(https://gameinformer.com/sgf-2026/2026/06/06/monster-hunter-developers-confirm-wilds-is-coming-to-switch-2-reveal-new), will come to Switch 2 next year. Check out the release date trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 below: Monster Hunter Wilds hits Switch 2 on December 4. In the meantime, read Game Informer's Monster Hunter Wilds review(https://gameinformer.com/review/monster-hunter-wilds/happy-hunting-playground) to learn why it was one of our favorite games of 2025.

Xbox Game Pass Adds A Great Call Of Duty Game Today🟩 Xbox, Multi-platform

Xbox Game Pass Adds A Great Call Of Duty Game Today

Xbox Game Pass grows today with the addition of a popular Call of Duty game. New to the service from today, September 8, is 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-review/1900-6417609/). It's available on Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass, and the game supports cloud streaming as well. Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops Cold War is set in Cold War-era 1981, with its campaign following Russell Adler as he and his team seek out a spy named Perseus. The game also has multiplayer, of course, along with Zombies. Black Ops Cold War was a bit hit, becoming 2020's best-selling game overall in the US(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/top-selling-games-and-consoles-of-2020-revealed-for-the-us/1100-6486361/). Game Pass isn't done adding more titles this month(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-game-pass-in-september-expands-with-seven-new-games/), as The Royal Writ and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage arrive on September 10, followed by RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15. After Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, many assumed that back-catalog Call of Duty games would flood Game Pass, but that didn't happen. Instead of releasing Call of Duty games en masse to Game Pass, Microsoft has taken more of a selective approach. Black Ops Cold War is now just the sixth Call of Duty game on Game Pass, joining Call of Duty: WWII, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6. Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6 were released day-and-date into Game Pass, but that's ending this year, and any Game Pass subscriber who wants to play Modern Warfare 4 at launch this October will have to pay for it ... or wait a year.(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-game-pass-could-lose-other-day-one-new-releases-beyond-call-of-duty-expert-says/1100-6539552/)
