Overview & Key Takeaways

Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date December 4

Capcom is bringing Monster Hunter Wilds to Nintendo Switch 2 this December. Revealed during today's Nintendo Direct, the 2025 monster-hunting action game that originally launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will finally make its way to Nintendo's latest handheld-hybrid console. This version launches on December 4 and includes all previously released updates for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Alongside the launch, Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 will feature local play so you and your friends can play together. With today's news, we also got our first big look at Monster Hunter Wilds actually running on the console and, perhaps unsurprisingly, given how well Capcom's other Switch 2 releases run, like Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata, the game seems to be running great. Plus, the game's upcoming 2027 expansion, Ascendance, will come to Switch 2 next year.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition Is Coming To Nintendo Switch 2 Next Year

!Kingdom Come Deliverance II Review Warhorse Studios Deep Silver Game Informer Review(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2025/03/17/5734f716/kcd2keyarttextless.jpg.webp) Developer Warhorse Studios is bringing Kingdom Come: Deliverance II(https://gameinformer.com/product/kingdom-come-deliverance-ii) Royal Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 next year. It will feature all base content, premium story expansions, exclusive gear, and a bonus questline. There's no word on exactly when this massive RPG will hit the Switch 2, however โ€“ just that it's coming sometime in 2027. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in February of last year, and became one of Game Informer's favorite games of 2025(https://gameinformer.com/best-of-2025/2025/12/16/the-top-ten-games-of-2025). You can read why we gave it a 9.5 out of 10 in Game Informer's Kingdom Come: Deliverance II review here(https://gameinformer.com/review/kingdom-come-deliverance-ii/a-medieval-day-epic). There's no word on how the game will run on Switch 2, but Warhorse's previously released Switch 2 port of Kingdom Come: Deliverance (the first game) runs fine, so hopefully the sequel runs as well or better. Check it out in action in the Switch 2 trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition below:

Rumored 3D Mario Game Could Finally Be Revealed At Tomorrowโ€™s Nintendo Direct๐ŸŽฎ PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Multi-platform

Rumored 3D Mario Game Could Finally Be Revealed At Tomorrowโ€™s Nintendo Direct

The big September Nintendo Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/two-nintendo-directs-announced-for-next-week-including-a-zelda-presentation/) is right around the corner, and so far, the only thing that Nintendo has confirmed about it is that it'll run for 45 minutes. Beyond that, the company is keeping a tight lid on tomorrow's broadcast, where it's expected to make a few big reveals that could help soften the blow of a $50 increase to the Switch 2(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps5-xbox-and-switch-2-heres-how-their-prices-have-changed-since-launch/) console. That hasn't stopped leakers from making some bold predictions, as one insider claims that we could finally see a new 3D Mario game revealed. Malo932--who correctly predicted the reveal of the recent Star Fox game and the remake of Ocarina of Time--also correctly revealed that two Nintendo Directs were coming this week. Their latest leaks (via Centro Leaks) have teased not only a 3D Mario but also a new Super Smash Bros. game, the return of the Nintendogs franchise, Mario Kart World DLC featuring Fox McCloud in action, and a brand-new Star Fox game. https://twitter.com/CentroLeaks/status/2096391885191282882 Another prominent leaker, NecroFelipe, has also added that Luigi's Mansion 4 is reportedly in development. That would make for a sizable stack of games from Nintendo, but even if they are real, could we see all of them in tomorrow's Direct? NecroFelipe isn't so sure, as they wrote on X(https://x.com/necrolipe/status/2096645953658773563) that Nintendo won't play its entire hand in one Direct. Malo932 has also deleted their recent YouTube comments since then and changed their display name to "Stop" (via Kotaku(https://kotaku.com/big-rumors-are-circulating-ahead-of-the-september-2026-nintendo-direct-and-a-new-leaker-just-nuked-their-youtube-comments-2000731878)), suggesting that something is afoot. Did Nintendo's lawyers finally close in on them? We'll have to wait until September 9 to find out, but if previous September Directs are any indication, this year's edition should have plenty of games from Nintendo and its third-party partners to check out. Don't forget, there's also a Legend of Zelda-themed Direct(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-legend-of-zelda-40th-anniversary-direct-start-time-how-to-watch-and-what-to-expect/) kicking off today.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation Extended Gameplay Look Highlights Wutai, Highwind Exploration, Queen's Blood, Side Quests, And More

!Final Fantasy VII Revelation April 8 2027 Release Date PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X/S Nintendo Switch 2 PC(https://gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/09/03/d8c25029/ff701.jpg.webp) Square Enix has released another trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation(https://gameinformer.com/product/final-fantasy-vii-revelation), this time a whopping 10-minute look at the game's characters, story, setting, and so much more. Plus, the trailer also revealed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on April 8, 2027. The trailer begins by highlighting each playable party member alongside new looks at the game's expanded combat, then breaks to reveal the April 8 release date. After that, director Naoki Hamaguchi(https://gameinformer.com/sgf-2026/2026/06/12/we-asked-final-fantasy-vii-revelation-director-naoki-hamaguchi-whats-next-for) appeared on camera to introduce the rest of the trailer, and we learn more about how Cloud and Co. will jump from the Highwind airship and parachute down to the planet below, Fortnite-style. Once on the ground, you can hop onto your trusty chocobo and sprint/glide/fly around as far as the eye can see. Plus, this chocobo can be an active participant in combat now, and of course, you can also just hop off and fight with your character's weapons, too. Check out the release date trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation below: For the uninitiated, the FITS (Function-Integrated Tactical Suitware) system is the new addition to Revelation's combat, and it's basically this game's Job system, allowing different party members to slot into various classes like warrior, black mage, and more. You can access your party's FITS on the Highwind, which is your base of operations in Revelation. To head to a new location, pilot the Highwind there in real time, and when you're ready to jump, hop on out and parachute down to the ground below. You'll be bringing the Highwind to returning locations like Junon and new ones, too, like Wutai, Yuffie's ninja-centric homeland. This trailer offered a great look at Wutai, which looks like a fantastical take on feudal Japan, and Yuffie's grapple gun makes traversing its towering buildings a breeze. In addition to Wutai, Revelation features several new areas, such as Rocket Town, though the trailer stops short of showing it. However, the trailer does bring us back to Gongaga, which first appeared in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Here, Square Enix explains that side quests in locations like Gongaga will reveal more about what's happening in the world, including the whereabouts of other characters from the wider Final Fantasy VII universe of games and media. Strangely, Revelation lets you to speed up cutscenes by 2x, allowing you to blitz through narrative moments (though I'm not sure why you would do that outside of, potentially, repeated playthroughs). It turns out, side quests and the unfolding narratives associated with them will change based on who you are controlling in the party. Cissnei reacts differently when working with Vincent, for example, versus Yuffie, but Square Enix says players can discover that in April. One of the best parts of Rebirth, the optional but incredible Queen's Blood card game, returns in Revelation. This time, Red XIII is the protagonist of this Queen's Blood saga, and during his adventure, he'll encounter powerful opponents that turn standard bouts on their heads. To close out the trailer, Hamaguchi asks that players get through Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth ahead of Revelation's launch in April. Final Fantasy VII Revelation hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC on April 8, 2027.
