2021 Game of the Year Could Be Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

A report claims that a document from a Hong Kong video distributor, Prowell Asia, indicates that 2021's Game of the Year winner It Takes Two could soon be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The report got fans excited, as it most likely means visual upgrades, higher resolution, and performance improvements.

It Takes Two is a co-op game that took the world by storm, winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2021. It launched in March 2021 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The following year, it made its way to the Nintendo Switch. It sold over 20 million copies on these platforms by the end of 2024. In the game, two players take the role of Cody and Mary, a couple who is about to divorce and gets cursed by their child into doll bodies. They will have to learn to love each other again to reclaim their old lives.

Rumors indicate that the game will soon be available on Switch 2, which will certainly increase its revenue further. According to Nintendo Everything, a report from Prowell Asia claims that It Takes Two will launch on Switch 2 on Oct. 15. The game will be available in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Although the price of It Takes Two on Switch 2 isn't mentioned in the document, it does say that it will be sold as a game card and requires 12.1 GB of free storage in order to be installed. So, gamers should be able to purchase a physical version of It Takes Two, but they will still need storage space to download it. It makes sense that it won't be a digital-only game, as physical media still seems to play a major role in Nintendo's financial report.
