GTA 6 Skipping PC At Launch And Having No Online Right Away Is Good, Helldivers Boss Says🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

GTA 6 Skipping PC At Launch And Having No Online Right Away Is Good, Helldivers Boss Says

The CEO of Helldivers studio Arrowhead Game Studios has commented on the upcoming launch of GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-leaks-a-timeline-of-the-events-so-far/), saying he's happy there will be no PC version or online mode at launch, because that will help Helldivers 2 "keep crushing it." In a statement to press, Sham Jorjani said Rockstar makes "ridiculous, high-effort stuff, and it's awesome that games like this get made." He said he's selfishly happy that the game won't be on PC at launch, nor will there be an online mode right away. "It means Helldivers 2 gets to keep crushing it in our own space, and is also why it won’t be the all consuming behemoth everyone’s worried about," he said. Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but the developer has not said a word about a possible PC edition. Additionally, Rockstar has said GTA 6 is a "single-player experience," but the company has not confirmed outright that there won't be an online mode at launch. It's expected Rockstar will evolve GTA Online in some form for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/with-gta-6-online-rockstar-is-deciding-who-to-make-mad/), but we don't know anything about that yet. With GTA 5, the game launched first on console before later coming to PC. For GTA 6, it's expected the game will also eventually come to PC. Additionally, it won't be unprecedented if GTA 6 launches with no online mode, as GTA 5 also launched without one. Jorjani went on to say Rockstar has "the brand power to confidently take their time and run their classic play," as opposed to chasing trends and pivoting like some other developers do. "They have the confidence and freedom to spend a decade doing things the old-school way because they know the core game will deliver. It’s going to raise the bar for sure," he said. The "Extended Look" for GTA 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-netflix-trailers-beefy-runtime-revealed-footage-captured-on-ps5/) aired today, August 27, on Netflix. For more, be sure to read GameSpot’s breakdown ofhow to watch and what to expect from the GTA 6 Extended Look event(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-extended-look-how-to-watch-what-to-expect-and-more/). The Netflix event comes after GTA 6 has suffered numerous, significant gameplay leaks. Rockstar reacted to the scandal, saying the leaks are “heartbreaking” for the developers(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/rockstar-finally-comments-on-all-those-gta-6-leaks-heartbreaking-for-our-team/). GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s coming to market with an incredible amount of hype behind it, in part because fans have been waiting 13 years for the sequel to GTA 5(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-biggest-gaming-stories-that-happened-since-gta-5-came-out-13-years-ago/).

The Blood Of Dawnwalker Devs Heard Your 60fps Requests And Have Good News For Console Players🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

The Blood Of Dawnwalker Devs Heard Your 60fps Requests And Have Good News For Console Players

If you wanted to play The Blood of Dawnwalker(https://www.gamespot.com/games/the-blood-of-dawnwalker/) at 60fps, you'd originally need to get the PC version and hope your rig was up to scratch(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-biggest-surprise-about-the-blood-of-dawnwalker-is-how-little-ram-it-needs/). Developer Rebel Wolves didn't initially list a 60fps mode for Xbox Series X, PS5, and PS5 Pro when it recently released a quick look at the graphical modes for those consoles, but the developer says it will now be added via a day-one patch when the game launches in September. "Performance mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet," Rebel Wolves wrote(https://x.com/DawnwalkerGame/status/2091812822082580778) on its The Blood of Dawnwalker X account. "We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day one." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLMUp83HZKE The Blood of Dawnwalker will have three modes to choose from on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PS5 Pro: Performance targets 60fps, Balanced targets 40fps, and Quality targets 30fps. Xbox Series S owners are only getting one mode, which targets 30fps on the lower-spec hardware. Rebel Wolves hasn't detailed the major differences between the modes either, but typically, Performance mode prioritizes a higher, smoother frame rate while cutting back on fancier lighting effects, simpler particle effects, and less detail compared to Quality mode. Balanced mode attempts to have the best of both worlds while targeting 40fps, while the PS5 Pro has proven to be a 4K 60fps powerhouse(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps5-pros-upgraded-pssr-is-rolling-out-today-here-are-the-first-games-getting-it/1100-6538811/) after the rollout of an upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/ps5-pro-visual-upgrade-incoming-with-new-pssr-update/1100-6538470/) earlier this year. Out on September 3, The Blood of Dawnwalker is the debut game from Rebel Wolves, a studio that features several former Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developers(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/witcher-3-director-says-his-vampire-game-couldnt-be-made-at-cd-projekt-red-or-another-established-studio/1100-6539674/) in its roster, including The Witcher 3 game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. Set in a dark medieval world full of vampires and grim fantasy, players will have to grapple with the consequences of their actions as they build up power for a final showdown against the vampire lord Brencis. "Whether you're talking to your best friend, working to bandage an injured comrade, or battling opponents to save your father's life, when the hunger takes hold, your actions may suddenly be out of your control. Dawnwalker is a game all about making you live with the consequences," Phil Hornshaw wrote in GameSpot's The Blood of Dawnwalker preview(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/in-the-blood-of-dawnwalkers-vampire-story-death-is-not-always-the-end/).

Mortal Shell 2’s Latest Update Alleviates One Of The Game’s Biggest Headaches🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

Mortal Shell 2’s Latest Update Alleviates One Of The Game’s Biggest Headaches

Developer Cold Symmetry has released its latest souls-like action-RPG, Mortal Shell 2(https://www.gamespot.com/games/mortal-shell-ii/), on August 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. And not even a day after launch, the studio already dropped a patch that makes some welcome tweaks, including addressing one of the game's most annoying issues: gold farming. On August 20, Cold Symmetry shared a breakdown on the game's subreddit(https://www.reddit.com/r/MortalShell/comments/1vttz2d/balancepatch1/) and Steam page(https://steamcommunity.com/app/2584270/discussions/0/582805931178489108/) of what Balance Patch 1 does. A welcome adjustment is a refund of the Glimpses--a rare currency used to bond with and unlock memories of your shell--you might've spent to discover a shell's location(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/mortal-shell-2-all-shell-locations/). You get whatever you spent back, and now, instead of costing that rare currency, buying a shell map costs Gloom, this game's version of Runes or Souls. A big change is a nerf to a handful of bosses and enemies. As Cold Symmetry put it, "all enemies featured in the beta were restored to their beta HP values." This means that the starting area of Mortal Shell 2(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/mortal-shell-2-is-a-fresh-and-exciting-shake-up-of-the-souls-like-formula/) has been tuned down to match what was in the beta, which I found quite easy when compared to the full release. Maybe the most major tweak, however, is an increase to the amount of gold you find now. As a result of this patch, gold drops from enemies have been "significantly increased," especially in the second zone. This lets you upgrade your weapons more often, as gold discovery should be in line with the materials you find everywhere. There are a handful of other changes that came with Balance Patch 1. This includes Tarstones--items that grant passive bonuses or modify melee attacks--and weapons(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/mortal-shell-2-tarforge-weapons-tarstones-upgrades/) getting buffed, addressing crashes and fixing bugs, and reducing the cost to unlevel your weapons via smelting. Balance Patch 1 is available now for PC. There's no release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions yet, but Cold Symmetry said it'll arrive on those platforms "shortly." For now, check out the update notes for Balance Patch 1 below. Mortal Shell 2 Balance Patch 1 Economy - Shell map locations now cost Gloom, and we’re refunding any Glimpses spent on shell maps. Refunded Glimpses are found in the Shell Keeper’s alcove in Blackmarrow. “Finding your favorite shell shouldn’t cost you the ability to bond with them.” - Gold drops from enemies have been significantly increased. Notably, enemies in Mammon now drop double the gold. “This brings the gold economy more in line with the weapon crafting item discovery.” - Smelting a weapon at the Tarforge costs 75% less gloom. “Our goal with the smelt capability was to enable switching weapons without the need to spend hours grinding through NG+ runs, but the Gloom costs were set exorbitantly high.” Enemies & Bosses All enemies featured in the beta were restored to their beta HP values, except the Caerinid (Spider) in Magdalena’s area, which we wanted to retain its role as a threatening enemy which doesn’t respawn once defeated. - Bosses - The Lost Child - Base Damage: (-10%) - Max Health: (-15%) - Monolith - Base Damage: (-19%) - Max Health: (-10%) - Some Monolith Attacks were retimed to be more fair, as well. - Enemies - Cultist (mace) - Max Health: (-21.1%) - Caerinid Spider - Max Health: (-33.3%) - Infested Stalker - Max Health: (-52.4%) - Rusted Knave (Halberd) - Max Health: (-20.8%) - Fixed hit detection for overhead strike. Weapons - Great Martyr’s Blade Attack Damage +20% - Troubadour's Lute Attack Damage +100% - Caged Hystrix and Triarch Repeater no longer have minimum resolve requirements to fire. - Improved tracking for Axatana, Black Needle, and Clockwork Scythe light attacks. Seals - Guard can now be used while walking. Tarstones - Parasitic Stone Buffed - Grudge Stone Buffed - Bulwark Stone Damage Reduction Increased Significantly - Clerik's Stone Buffed - Squall Stone Buffed Miscellaneous - Misc. Halo: Campaign Evolved’s Biggest Competition Might Be Halo🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

Halo: Campaign Evolved’s Biggest Competition Might Be Halo

Halo Campaign Evolved(https://www.gamespot.com/games/halo-campaign-evolved/) is a celebration of the franchise, but not many people are attending that party. New estimates peg sales at 1.2 million copies sold across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 so far, around $67 million in revenue, which isn't the best start for this remake of the original Halo campaign. Also available via Xbox Game Pass, the game is estimated to have 2.1 million players through the subscription service. According to Alinea Analytics' head of market analysis, Rhys Elliott(https://alineaanalytics.substack.com/), there are several reasons for this. Sales are split almost down the middle between Xbox Series X|S and PS5 at 42% and 41%, respectively, while Steam accounts for 17% of sales. This is up from its launch-week sales(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-on-ps5-is-off-to-a-slow-start-expert-says/), but not by much. So what's the reason behind the lukewarm sales of the classic first-person shooter, which has gotten a new coat of paint and some fine-tuning under the gameplay hood? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LimYD3Ycwo As Elliott noted, Halo: Campaign Evolved's biggest competition on PC might be another Halo--specifically, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The Halo game compilation offers better value for money and includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, a 2015 remake that's pretty solid in its own right. Throw in options for multiplayer and more Halo games to the mix, and the $40 price tag makes it a much more tempting offer compared to the $50 required for Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is more barebones in comparison. Shinier graphics, extra co-op missions, and the ability to sprint in that game just aren't enough, it seems. "The price is too high for a port like this one, and the Halo brand--candidly--has lost a lot of cache, Elliot wrote(https://x.com/superhys/status/2087224210296893632). "A lot of Steam users already own Master Chief Collection--8.5 million copies sold on Steam, as per our estimates--which offers more content for less. On PS5, Halo: Campaign Evolved is estimated to have sold 544,000 copies so far, neck and neck with Xbox despite the Sony platform having a larger userbase than its Microsoft rival. Elliot explained that while plenty of PS5 owners jumped in thanks to the nostalgia factor of Halo, sales were driven by an "older, nostalgia-driven crowd" that encompasses players who are roughly 32-40 years old. Many of these people were likely former Xbox 360 owners who had since moved to PlayStation hardware, but the game didn't make a big dent with a "fresh" PlayStation audience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woUnTCVv9JU Shooters, remakes, and legacy-leaning titles still sell well on the platform, as the audience overlap skews heavily toward the late PS2, Xbox 360, and early PS4 eras, Elliot explained. While Halo: Campaign Evolved didn't achieve the same velocity as several other Xbox ports did on PlayStation, bringing the Master Chief Collection with its multiplayer suite to that platform would have "certainly" done better, Elliot wrote. "At the very least, if the rumored Halo 2 remake ships with online multiplayer, it’ll sell a great deal more, assuming it comes to PlayStation at all." The co-creator of Halo and designer of Master Chief, Marcus Lehto, also shared his opinion on the remake recently, saying that he has a few issues(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-co-creator-calls-out-remake-for-pandering-to-new-era-of-players-with-0-attention-span/) with it but is generally happy with how it came out. Following the final update for Halo: Infinite(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinites-last-update-arrives-this-month-as-devs-move-to-other-halo-projects/1100-6536070/) in November 2025, Halo Studios has now begun work on new Halo projects.

Halo On PS5 Is Off To A Slow Start, Expert Says🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

Halo On PS5 Is Off To A Slow Start, Expert Says

For the first time ever, a Halo game is available on PlayStation with Halo: Campaign Evolved. The game is having a "notably slow start" on Sony's console in terms of sales, however, according to gaming analyst Rhys Elliott(https://alineaanalytics.substack.com/p/julys-top-playstation-games-by-copies). He estimated that Campaign Evolved sold 351,000 copies on PS5 during July and 452,000 to date, generating nearly $28 million. By comparison, Elliott said Campaign Evolved has shifted 212,000 units on Steam and about 900,000 on Xbox across console and PC thus far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LimYD3Ycwo The analyst said the game's price point--$50--was partly to blame. "Fifty dollars for what’s essentially a graphical touch-up of a 2001 game was always going to be a hard sell, and players clearly weren’t having it," he said. Beyond graphical improvements, Campaign Evolved also features three new prequel missions via the Operation Meteorite story arc. Multiplayer is what Halo is perhaps best known for, but Campaign Evolved--as its name suggests--does not feature multiplayer support. Also in his comments, Elliott said the slow start for Halo on PS5 "stings even more" when compared to the success of the Black Ops 1 and 2 ports on PlayStation. Those games reportedly combined to sell more than 11 million units(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/black-ops-1-and-2-ports-sold-11-million-copies-combined-on-playstation-benefitting-both-xbox-and-sony/), generating hundreds of millions of dollars. Elliott went on to lament the slowing sales and diminishing profile of Halo as a franchise in general after the series peaked with Halo 3 and Halo: Reach years ago. "One can’t help wondering what could have been if Halo had kept the trajectory it had around Halo 3 and Reach. A remake of the game that started it all landing this softly on a new platform makes me pretty sad, as a Halo fan," he wrote. There are more Halo games in development, including one that's been described as "like Fortnite"(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/next-halo-game-may-be-like-fortnite-with-live-service-report/1100-6535547/) with regards to its live-service approach. Developer Halo Studios has said future Halo games will also be on PlayStation(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-games-will-be-on-playstation-going-forward-says-microsoft/1100-6535712/), but those comments came before Asha Sharma became Xbox CEO and pledged to release more exclusive games for Xbox(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-clarifies-its-exclusivity-strategy-moving-forward-wants-you-to-buy-an-xbox/).

Halo: Campaign Evolved On PC Has A Hidden Feature You Need A Mod To Access🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Multi-platform

Halo: Campaign Evolved On PC Has A Hidden Feature You Need A Mod To Access

This week, PlayStation 5 players were able to join their Xbox and PC counterparts for the first time in Halo: Campaign Evolved(https://www.gamespot.com/?shadowgame=halo-campaign-evolved). Console gamers are able to use a classic Halo feature that the PC port seemingly lacks: split-screen co-op. However, a new PC mod restores access to this missing feature. A Halo: Campaign Evolved split-screen co-op mod was posted on Nexus Mods(https://www.pcgamer.com/games/halo/mod-activates-split-screen-support-in-halo-campaign-evolved-pc-thats-just-sitting-there-unused/) by user Jpurd. As noted by Jpurd, the mod doesn't do anything except unlock the local split-screen option that was already in the game. There are some drawbacks to this AI-created mod. It can only handle two players via split-screen mode even though the game can support 4-player co-op. Users also note that it only works if both players are using a controller, and the mod may be limited to Steam users. Anyone playing Campaign Evolved on PC Game Pass or who purchased a copy from the Microsoft Store may not be able to use the mod at all. The rollout of Campaign Evolved hit a snag last week when players who paid extra for early access on Xbox weren't able to jump into the game(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-players-on-xbox-who-paid-more-to-play-early-cant/) alongside PC and PS5 ahead of the official launch. Players were also upset about reports that they needed a PS Plus account to use split-screen co-op(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-fans-can-relax-campaign-evolved-wont-require-ps-plus-for-split-screen/), but that turned out to not be the case. It's too soon to say how well Halo: Campaign Evolved will perform across all platforms, but the game's secret ending(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-campaign-evolved-secret-ending-seems-to-tease-a-halo-2-remake/) appears to tease a remake of Halo 2 as well. In the meantime, players can use these codes to claim free armor sets(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-campaign-evolved-codes-for-free-armor-sets/) in Campaign Evolved.
