🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCMortal Shell 2: How to complete Hilga's questline
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/meeting-hilga-mortal-shell-2.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Hilga is a frog-obsessed witch in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2)'s Mushroom Village, and when you first meet her, she's whipping up a secret elixir in a cauldron and watching a bony guy named Grom boil in a nearby pot. (What a couple!) These two NPCs are some of the only characters in Mushroom Village who don't instantly try to kill you, and while they may seem bizarre at first, chatting with them multiple times reveals that there's much more than meets the eye regarding Hilga and her amphibian preferences. If you've been wondering exactly what Hilga's deal is, and whether or not you should drink from her cauldron, we're here to spill all the details. In this guide, we'll explain how to complete Hilga's questline in Mortal Shell 2. We'll also explain how her story intersects with the questline of Gorf(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-gorf-questline), a large toad from the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) who also appears in this game. 🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCMortal Shell 2: How to revive your Shell
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-harros-discovered.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Your Shell is your trusty tether in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2), providing abilities, extra health, and a sense of security as you traverse a dangerous world. It makes sense, then, that losing your Shell leaves you in a naked, vulnerable state. Luckily, your Harbinger can reclaim their Shell fairly easily. Doing so, however, is vastly different from how it was in the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell), where all you needed to do was run towards your Shell and jump back into it before an enemy cleaved you down. In this guide we'll explain exactly how to revive your Shell in Mortal Shell 2, and we'll also offer up tips for staying alive while doing so. How to Fast Travel between Beacons in Mortal Shell 2
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-proxima-standing-by-beacon.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Upon teleporting from the Marrow Keep in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2), you'll witness an epic scene where your Harbinger transforms into a blazing comet as it flies through the sky, crashing down at the Beacon you've chosen to explore in the vast overworld. As awesome as this cutscene is, it may get old after the umpteenth time, and perhaps you simply want to Fast Travel between Beacons without returning to the Marrow Keep so much. Fast Travel isn't immediately available in Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) 2, and was a point of contention amongst many players of the game's beta. But don't worry, all you need to do is keep playing. In this guide, we'll tell you exactly how to Fast Travel between Beacons in Mortal Shell 2, and when you can expect to unlock this crucial ability. 🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCAll bosses in Mortal Shell 2
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-lost-child.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) features a host of viciously creative bosses, many of whom sport nausea-inducing appendages sticking out from the wrong places and screen-filling attacks designed to tear your Harbinger to shreds. And while there are technically only a handful of main bosses that guard the Corrupted Gates that must be cleansed to advance the story, plenty of minibosses stand between you and the Ovum of the UnderMether. In this guide, we're covering each of these grotesque opponents. This is our comprehensive list of all bosses in Mortal Shell 2, from the Tar Golem that wrecks your best buddy Harros at the start of the game, to the H. R. Giger-inspired Hexapod that Proxima is hunting. Suit up in your favourite Shell, sharpen your blade of choice, and get the Naylshotte ready to blast some skulls! 🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCHow to get the Troubadour's Lute in Mortal Shell 2
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-proxima-playing-lute.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) The Troubadour's Lute is one of the most fascinating sidearms in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2), and it was a fan-favourite amongst everyone who participated in the beta. Capable of confusing enemies and producing rad bardcore rhythms, the Lute was originally found by carefully exploring Mushroom Village. However, in the full release of Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) 2, the Lute's location has changed, and it's actually now in a slightly off-the-beaten-path location that some players may not find until they've already beaten a slew of bosses(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-all-bosses). In this guide, we'll tell you exactly how to get the Lute in Mortal Shell 2. We'll also provide some tips on how to make the most of this unorthodox, musical weapon. Fear not, troubadour-in-training - the ability to befuddle those vicious old ladies in Mushroom Village with the power of song will soon be yours! 🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCMortal Shell 2: How to Harden
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-harden.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) While Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) follows its Soulslike brethren by featuring parrying, guarding, and rolling out of the way, the ability to Harden remains something unique to the series. Introduced in the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) as a pivotal mechanic for soaking up damage, Harden lets your Harbinger temporarily strengthen its skin into rock, warding off enemy blows for a prolonged period of time. Harden is an incredibly strong ability that some may find a tad overpowered; nevertheless, it also brings its own challenges to the table. In this guide, we'll tell you exactly how to Harden in Mortal Shell 2, and provide a few tips for maximising its potential. Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-how-to-harden)
🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCMortal Shell 2: Immersive vs Action camera
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-harbinger-and-ruk.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) features two different camera options that you can tweak at any time, letting you select between an up-close-and-personal view or one that's more zoomed-out. It's rare to have multiple camera choices in a Souls game, and you may be wondering which is more likely to give you a better grip on the action. We've tested both camera options extensively, and let's just say that looks can be deceptive! In this guide, we'll break down the pros and cons of Mortal Shell 2's Immersive vs Action camera styles and let you know which one you should choose. 🖥 PlayStation, Xbox, PCMortal Shell 2: How to complete Gorf's questline
!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/gorf-big-toad-mortal-shell-2.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Gorf is a familiar warty face from the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell), and he's one of the earliest NPCs that you'll run into when you enter Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2)'s starting region of Fainweald. In a grim realm full of hideous beasts and pasty-faced brigands obsessed with shanking you, Gorf stands out as a loveable amphibian friend. Unfortunately, he's suffering from an ailment when your paths cross, and if you want to help him out, you'll have to visit him several times. In this guide, we'll explain how to complete Gorf's questline in Mortal Shell 2. Don't worry, Gorf fans - it ends happily! Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-gorf-questline)

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/axe-and-dagger-mortal-shell-2.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) The Axe and Dagger is one of the first weapon acquisitions in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) after your starting longsword, the Iconoclast. Especially handy with Tiel's skillset, they're not as strong as other weapons, but can massacre an enemy's health bar at a very fast pace. Finding the Axe and Dagger is tricky, however. They're hidden within the Chapel of Mushroom Village, but to get into that place, you first need the Chapel Key. In this guide, we'll spill all the details, telling you exactly how to get the Axe and Dagger in Mortal Shell 2. We'll also provide some handy pointers for making the most of this deadly attack duo. 🖥 Xbox, PCGameSir T7 Pro Sugar Whirl review
Not quite the sweetest of treats.
🖥 Xbox, PC, Multi-platformIgnore Your Growing Backlog–It’s Time To Play South Of Midnight On Steam
Look, it's no surprise to anyone for me to admit that I like South of Midnight(https://www.gamespot.com/games/south-of-midnight/). I've written about it being a love letter to the American Deep South(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/south-of-midnight-review-a-love-letter-to-the-american-deep-south/1900-6418352/), noted how it was one of the best Xbox games of 2025(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/the-best-xbox-exclusive-games-of-2025/2900-7325/2), and talked about how much the game's story, characters, and setting have meant to me on video podcasts for both GameSpot(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=815z1trpMdQ) and IGN(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnkSABRc3EI). I want everyone to play this game, and there's never been a better time to do so on Steam(https://store.steampowered.com/app/1934570/SouthofMidnight/). As noticed by Respec(https://www.respec.net/news/151-south-of-midnight-self-published-steam-compulsion-games-xbox), Xbox is no longer listed as the publisher for South of Midnight on Steam. Instead, the game is noted as being self-published by Compulsion Games, reflecting the studio's independence following another round of severe layoffs and restructuring from Xbox(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-layoffs-studio-closures-and-spin-offs-everything-announced-today/). While Compulsion Games hasn't confirmed whether this is the case--who knows what type of strange and awful backroom clauses might be in place to ensure Xbox keeps getting a slice of this particular pie--this does seem to indicate that all future sales of South of Midnight on Steam will benefit Compulsion, not Compulsion and Xbox. So if you want to play South of Midnight, but you were concerned about continuing to line Xbox's pockets, this seems like the golden opportunity to finally give the action-adventure platformer a go. And you should play it! The game is so good! South of Midnight's selling point is certainly its atmosphere. The sound design and orchestral score(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/south-of-midnights-music-transforms-trauma-into-a-soundtrack/1100-6537016/) are tied into the gameplay and story to put you right into the midst of its gothic fantasy, transforming the trauma of a resilient and multifaceted culture into the backbone of one of the most affecting video games I've ever played. Its combat and platforming aren't exactly wow-worthy, leaning on tried-and-true PlayStation 2-era mechanics without pushing them forward in any meaningful way, but those shortcomings are overshadowed by memorable characters, catchy tunes, and incredible visuals. Like I said in my South of Midnight review(https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/south-of-midnight-review-a-love-letter-to-the-american-deep-south/1900-6418352/), "Compulsion Games hasn’t made a direct sequel to any of its games yet, but it needs to make an exception here." South of Midnight is just that great. Compulsion Games has a real winner here, and you should support the studio by buying and playing South of Midnight, and then joining me in celebrating this gaming accomplishment.
