!Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis Trailer Release Date PlayStation State of Play(https://www.gameinformer.com/sites/default/files/styles/bodydefault/public/2026/06/02/70686a04/tombraider02.jpg.webp) We first learned about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis last year(https://www.gameinformer.com/the-game-awards-2025/2025/12/11/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-is-a-remake-of-the-first-game-in-the), but it appeared during last week's PlayStation State of Play(https://www.gameinformer.com/round-up/2026/06/02/heres-everything-shown-during-the-june-2026-playstation-state-of-play) with a new February 12 release date(https://www.gameinformer.com/state-of-play/2026/06/02/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-gets-february-2027-release-date-in-new) and a Steam generative AI disclosure that indicates developers Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog used AI at one point, but notes that all AI assets have been "replaced or refined by humans."(https://www.gameinformer.com/opinion/2026/06/03/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-used-ai-at-one-point-but-devs-say-all-ai-assets) During Summer Game Fest 2026 media play days, we had a chance to play Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – read our hands-on preview thoughts here(https://www.gameinformer.com/preview/2026/06/11/dont-go-chasing-waterfalls) – and interview Crystal Dynamics about the game. During this interview, Game Informer senior video editor Alex Van Aken asked Crystal Dynamics' experience director for the game, Jeff Adams, about the use of generative AI. Here's what he had to say: "At Crystal Dynamics, we see AI as a tool that can help our team get to right answers faster. So, let me give you an example of what that looks like. So, say in early level development, we have an idea for an object, but we're not sure whether or not we want to take the dev time to build it. We can use a generative AI tool to help us visualize that object in the world. And if it works, we'll then move it to our traditional pipeline. From there, the team will concept it, they'll build it, and we'll make sure that all the finished content in the final game is human-crafted. It's really important for us that our team has the tools to make the highest quality experience possible. Our fans deserve nothing less than that." We followed up, asking, "And so when you drag that generative piece into the engine, does it have scripts attached to it? Or is it an environmental art tool in that procedure? What's that look like?" At this point, a PR representative stepped in to say, "I think what I'd probably say is I think we've said all we want to say about it now. Once the game comes out and everyone can see how amazing it is, we'd probably be more comfortable. I think in this early moment, I just wouldn't want us to like start talking about that." Adams concludes, "We just want to make it as easy as possible for us to make high-quality game experiences. That's really the important thing." 🖥 PC, Multi-platformThe Number Of Steam Next Fest Demos This Month Is Too Damn High
As Not-E3 season starts to wind down and everyone's wishlist starts to look crowded with games scheduled for September and October, the next big event on the calendar is Steam Next Fest. The second of three planned week-long demo showcases for 2026, Next Fest is positioned to provide an early taste of upcoming games across a wide variety of genres. The demo showcase has grown in the years since it was first introduced, and the June 2026 edition has ballooned to a truly ridiculous size, with 4,931 demos being featured at the time of writing. Normally, having too many free game demos to play is a great problem to have, but with Next Fest, the sheer number of participating games(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/steam-next-fest-february-2026-30-of-the-best-demos-you-can-download-right-now/2900-7515/) feels like overkill. It's worth noting that the original goal of Next Fest was for each demo to only be available to play for the week of the event, but it's not unusual to see these early slices of game remain in place long after the Steam event wraps up. It's also not unusual for these demos to go live before Next Fest even begins, and plenty of these demos have also been around for a while before they got a quick rebranding. https://bsky.app/profile/kriswbennett.co.uk/post/3mnzbtpjlok2u Prepare for some choice paralysis, because the only way to experience everything that Next Fest has to offer would be to forego sleep for a week and work out a way to complete a game demo once every 122 seconds. Or if you really like what you're sampling off of Steam, you can just replay the same demo for as long as it's live--or wonder if certain game demos(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/steam-next-fest-most-played-demos-raises-a-bit-of-an-eyebrow/1100-6538529/) should even be eligible. Beyond Next Fest, several more Steam events have been dated(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/when-is-the-next-steam-sale-date/1100-6532422/) for June and beyond. The Steam Summer Sale kicks off on June 25 and runs through July 9. Choo-choo fans can check out Train Fest starting July 20, and Cyberpunk Fest is shining a spotlight on neon-soaked sci-fi games. Later in the year, the Steam Autumn Sale will run for one week starting October 1, and the Steam Winter Sale is scheduled to start on December 17.
