PS5 Game Dev Says Sony Is Removing Its Catalog And Won’t Say Why

It appears Sony is preparing to remove an entire studio's library from the PlayStation Store after August 23, according to Ukrainian developer Ternox Games. The developer behind Stonks-9800(https://www.gamespot.com/games/stonks-9800-stock-market-simulator/), a stock market sim with an '80s vibe, took to X on August 16(https://x.com/Taimumari/status/2089021552012525708) to reveal the news. Ternox Games stated that, without any reason, their contract with Sony was "unilaterally terminated" and all of their games will be pulled soon. And now, Stonks-9800--which has been in Steam Early Access since July 2023 and has an "overwhelmingly positive" rating on the platform--will no longer make its way to PS5 as a result of this termination. https://twitter.com/Taimumari/status/2089021552012525708 "Sony PlayStation unilaterally terminated my PlayStation developer and publisher agreement without giving me any reason," the developer wrote. "My existing games are scheduled to be removed from the PlayStation Store after August 23." In a follow-up X post(https://x.com/Taimumari/status/2089021555342823477), Ternox Games said PlayStation Support "refuses to listen to my arguments or even respond to my emails in any way." As a result, Stonks-9800 is no longer launching on PlayStation 5, and they will no longer be able to self-publish on PlayStation. 13 games, some of which Ternox Games published, will be pulled after August 23. "I had hoped to release the PS5 version in 2027 and make a physical disc edition while that was still possible," the studio continued. "Sadly, that will not happen--but I'll do my best to create a physical edition for PC and Switch. I'm really sorry that this happened and that I failed the developers whose games I published. But there's nothing I can do about it now, unfortunately. I still have a tiny bit of hope that this decision will be reconsidered, so please share this message if you can." It's unclear why this is happening since Ternox Games' titles doesn't appear to fall under the shovelware category. However, due to Sony's "stricter guidelines" on shovelware(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sonys-stricter-guidelines-on-shovelware-playstation-games-are-reportedly-targeting-more-developers/), and the company's intent to remove as many of these games as possible(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-cracks-down-on-over-1000-digital-playstation-games-from-the-same-publisher/1100-6537423/), some online have suggested that Ternox Games got caught in the crossfire. Sony has been in hot water lately, especially following the announcement that the company plans to stop producing physical PlayStation discs in January 2028(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-confirms-playstation-disc-production-will-end-in-2028/). Under just about every post and video the company puts out are comments(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-tries-to-change-the-subject-after-killing-playstation-discs/) from netizens decrying Sony's decision. It's come to the point where over 220,000 people have signed a petition(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/over-220000-people-petition-sony-not-to-kill-physical-playstation-game-discs/) urging the company to change its mind.

Mortal Shell 2: All Shell locations

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/sester-genessa-closeup.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) There are 8 Shells for your Harbinger to inhabit in Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) 2, not counting Harros, the vassal who helps you during the game's Prologue. Each Shell possesses different abilities, from Tiel's skill at disappearing into the shadows to Smert's time-stopping powers. Since Mortal Shell as a franchise eschews traditional character classes, finding the right Shell to suit your playstyle is vital. But aside from Tiel and Proxima, most Shells are hidden in secret locations that you'll either stumble upon as you explore, or need to spend Glimpses to find in Zhirelle's chamber within the Marrow Keep. Our advice? Don't waste your Glimpses, which are a limited resource and only reveal the approximate location of each Shell. Instead, bookmark this guide, which details the exact locations of all Shells in Mortal Shell 2 and how to unlock them. Read more(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-shell-locations)

Mortal Shell 2 walkthrough

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-tiel-vs-magdalena.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) is one of the very best of its genre, in my opinion as a veteran Souls player. It's got all the grit and confidence of a true soulslike, and a haunting world that's truly exciting to uncover - in a way that only a few open-world games can match. But as you may expect, the brutal combat, labyrinthine pathways, and obtuse moon logic questlines all combine to make this a pretty challenging game to complete - let alone 100%. That's where we come in. This page contains the entirety of Rock Paper Shotgun's Mortal Shell 2 walkthrough, from start to finish. I'll guide you step by step through every major area on the map, highlighting collectibles, weapons, bosses, questline instructions, and more along the way. My intention is for this guide to be the definitive place to go for new players (or returning Harbingers) looking to 100% Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) 2 and have the most fun possible while doing it. Mortal Shell 2: How to parry

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-how-to-parry.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Like most Soulslikes, Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2) features plenty of good ol' fashioned parrying. This is only one of several possibilities for combat that open up when you equip the game's Seals, which offer different ways of countering enemy attacks. Parrying will probably feel familiar if you've played just about any other Souls game, but the fact that it's tied to a Seal is unusual. In this guide we'll provide a complete rundown of how to parry in Mortal Shell 2, as well as the benefits of doing so versus guarding. Mortal Shell 2: How to complete Hilga's questline

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/meeting-hilga-mortal-shell-2.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Hilga is a frog-obsessed witch in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2)'s Mushroom Village, and when you first meet her, she's whipping up a secret elixir in a cauldron and watching a bony guy named Grom boil in a nearby pot. (What a couple!) These two NPCs are some of the only characters in Mushroom Village who don't instantly try to kill you, and while they may seem bizarre at first, chatting with them multiple times reveals that there's much more than meets the eye regarding Hilga and her amphibian preferences. If you've been wondering exactly what Hilga's deal is, and whether or not you should drink from her cauldron, we're here to spill all the details. In this guide, we'll explain how to complete Hilga's questline in Mortal Shell 2. We'll also explain how her story intersects with the questline of Gorf(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/mortal-shell-2-gorf-questline), a large toad from the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) who also appears in this game. Mortal Shell 2: How to revive your Shell

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-harros-discovered.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Your Shell is your trusty tether in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2), providing abilities, extra health, and a sense of security as you traverse a dangerous world. It makes sense, then, that losing your Shell leaves you in a naked, vulnerable state. Luckily, your Harbinger can reclaim their Shell fairly easily. Doing so, however, is vastly different from how it was in the first Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell), where all you needed to do was run towards your Shell and jump back into it before an enemy cleaved you down. In this guide we'll explain exactly how to revive your Shell in Mortal Shell 2, and we'll also offer up tips for staying alive while doing so. How to Fast Travel between Beacons in Mortal Shell 2

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/mortal-shell-2-proxima-standing-by-beacon.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Upon teleporting from the Marrow Keep in Mortal Shell 2(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell-2), you'll witness an epic scene where your Harbinger transforms into a blazing comet as it flies through the sky, crashing down at the Beacon you've chosen to explore in the vast overworld. As awesome as this cutscene is, it may get old after the umpteenth time, and perhaps you simply want to Fast Travel between Beacons without returning to the Marrow Keep so much. Fast Travel isn't immediately available in Mortal Shell(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/mortal-shell) 2, and was a point of contention amongst many players of the game's beta. But don't worry, all you need to do is keep playing.
