AC Black Flag Resynced: How to get Diving Bell

One of the major changes between Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and the 2013 original is the fact that Edward Kenway can dive anywhere. While deep diving expeditions were previously limited to specific shipwreck sites on your map, Resynced now allows Edward to explore the dark depths of the ocean to his heart's content, as long as you have the Diving Bell.

Getting the Diving Bell isn't difficult, but it does take a few hours of playing Resynced. How to get the Diving Bell

You'll naturally acquire the Diving Bell in Sequence 6 of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, during the mission Diving for Medicines.

There are two methods of getting the Diving Bell during this mission:

• You can purchase a Diving Bell from the Nassau Harbourmaster. This is the simplest method, but it'll cost you a hefty 5,000 Reales.
• Chat with Adewale, who tells you that you can steal a Diving Bell from a camp southwest of Nassau.

If you decide to take the second option, you need to defeat five pirates before you can lay your hands on the bell. Assassinating them isn't hard as long as you take advantage of the bushes near the camp, or hide in the haystack and wait for the enemies to draw close. If you're confronted, you can always use the Rope Dart to disorient your foes and bring them in for the kill.

When everyone's dead, the Diving Bell is yours to take and you can continue the mission as normal. You'll get a chance to use the Diving Bell very shortly to explore the San Ignacio Wreck.

How to use the Diving Bell

Using the Diving Bell is straightforward. You can either navigate the Jackdaw to a specific Shipwreck marker in the ocean (for instance the San Ignacio Wreck) and drop the bell, which is how it was in the original 2013 game, or you can simply lower it anywhere you want. Using it allows Edward to dive in to great depths that he wouldn't otherwise be able to reach, looting all the sunken treasure chests along the way.

As you swim around, pay careful attention to Edward's breath bar - whenever he starts to run out of oxygen, look out for Air Barrels that have been anchored to the ocean floor by the Jackdaw's crew to replenish your air supply, or streams of bubbles that represent Air Pockets. When in doubt, swim back to the Diving Bell to totally fill up your breath bar.

While using the Diving Bell, you'll occasionally run into shark attacks. When encountering a shark, you'll have to do some button-mashing to dodge the attack, and it's best to lose them by blending into schools of fish, hiding in seaweed, or returning to the safety of the Diving Bell. You should also watch out for jellyfish, which will deal damage if you bump into them.
