Today’s Connections: Sports Edition answers

Here are the answers for today's Connections: Sports Edition puzzle on Sunday 28th June:

Today's Connections: Sports Edition puzzle had a special guest! In an unusual break from the sports-themed groups, we had a regular old vocabulary one today. That group was the first to get sorted for me. The green group, however, wasn't so easy.

I definitely got tripped up by the second two-letter word that belongs in the purple group, and that cost me a fair few lives. But I got there in the end! And so did you, thanks to the help of this puzzle.
