Gears of War: E-Day system requirements are here and it might be bad news for GTX 10-series cards and, well, storage in general

Overview & Key Takeaways

130 GB is a whopper and a half.

During the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said, "It's only fitting that as we return to Xbox, we return to Gears." With that, Gears of War: E-Day was revealed, and with it plenty of excitement for an early-days take on the war with the Locust. It's an Xbox exclusive, but that just means no PlayStation. We'll still be getting it on PC—and on that front, we've just been served up the specs we'll need to get the game running.

The requirements aren't too surprising, though there are a couple of things to note. First, the minimum recommended GPU is an RTX 2060; second, the game's gonna require a whopping 130 GB of storage space.

For reference, lots of big modern games list a GTX 10-series GPU—say, a GTX 1070—as a minimum. I'd be ranting about outrageous system requirements if that RTX 2060 also meant—as one might naturally assume—steep requirements in the recommended column. But a recommended RTX 5060 or RTX 3060 Ti is pretty reasonable if you ask me.

That the RTX 2060 is a minimum requirement might imply that there's ray tracing baked in and no software-based RT as a fallback. We can't say that for certain, but it would explain the high minimum GPU requirement and recommended GPUs that are only a small rung up.

The 130 GB storage requirement, on the other hand, kind of speaks for itself. It's a whopper. Lots of modern games require a bunch of storage, but often not quite that much. All during a global memory and storage shortage, too gulp.

The game is set to launch on October 6, and you can pre-purchase it for $70 on Steam. Just make sure you'll have the disk space free to install it. And the rest, of course.

It may not be the longest dungeon in the game, but it's likely the most layered, with multiple secret passages, and more than a few nods to one of the oldest and most iconic levels in gaming. It's also far more challenging than most areas you can find in Fainweald, which is why we've left it until now to tackle. But now, it's time. Below I'll walk you through exactly how to 100% the Desolate Keep, revealing every secret with easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. With everything else in Fainweald now conquered, it's time for us to journey to these far north reaches and cleanse the land of its last scant bits of corruption. Below, I've put together an easy to follow step-by-step guide to the entire region of the Sanguine Caverns, including every dungeon, every foe and boss encounter, and every tucked away valuable item - of which there are several in this area of Fainweald! The Blood of Dawnwalker: All endings explained

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/TBODCoenEnding.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) The Blood of Dawnwalker(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/the-blood-of-dawnwalker) has one main goal for Coen – to save his family. You spend 30 days (and nights) figuring out your best defence against Brencis, levelling up skills, collecting armour and teaming up with allies. But it turns out defeating him isn't the only way to get everyone home safe. In fact, sometimes defeating him might still lead to the demise of your nearest and dearest. I played through the game's four full story endings to see what would happen and, unfortunately, it's bad news for Lunka at almost every turn. There's also three additional early endings you can try on for size, which we'll cover at the end. In this guide I'll fully explain how to get all endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and what can happen to your family along the way in each case.
