Get ready for more puzzles and no rats as Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy confirms its release date

Overview & Key Takeaways

Seriously, where are all the rats?

We're going back to where it all started with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the upcoming prequel to the iconic ratty action series. And thanks to today's Xbox showcase, we now know that its launch is just around the corner.

It's been a year since this prequel was first announced, and now thankfully we don't have to wait too much longer as its release date has been set for August 27, 2026.

The game follows Sophia as she works her way through Minotaur Island—all while shifting between the Middle Ages and ancient Minoan times. Resonance tells an all new story, albeit one that follows Sophia's origins 15 years before meeting Amicia and Hugo.

Resonance will also be trading the usual stealth-focused action of the previous games in this series for a straight-forward approach to combat. This may put some fans off, but not me—I was never a fan of A Plague Tale's sneaky ways, and am always up for some good old-fashioned street brawls.

Plus, Sophia is a hardened fighter, one that is well-versed in agile melee combat. Meaning we can also expect some parries to be coming our way.

If all of that doesn't get you excited, then try and rest easy in the knowledge that there'll still be plenty of puzzles to solve: "Guided by the knowledge safeguarded in your notebook, follow in your crew’s footsteps to explore a richly detailed world, unravel its secrets, and face deadly trials. Use a stolen Minoan sphere to solve ingenious puzzles by manipulating light—a force woven by Daedalus into the island’s very heart."

But with the release date so close, you won't have to wait long to find out whether this prequel is up your alley. At the very least I'm just eager to know more about the Macula's legacy, even if there has been an unfortunate lack of rats in all the trailers so far.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword - All bosses

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/rasho-gan.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Onimusha: Way of the Sword(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/onimusha-the-way-of-the-sword) marks the triumphant return of Capcom's samurai action franchise after a twenty-year hiatus, with all of the hallmarks that it possessed back in the PlayStation 2 days, including fast action, Issen counterattacks, and plenty of screen-filling bosses. Miyamoto Musashi will need every ounce of his wits and skill to beat these contenders, many of whom are dangerously fierce and reminiscent of Soulslike opponents, even though Way of the Sword is more of a traditional hack 'n slash action adventure game. Way of the Sword offers two difficulty modes upon startup, including a Story Mode that will let you decimate most enemies in your path. But on Action Mode, none of these bosses are a walk in the park, and some will even be a challenge on Story Mode. To help Musashi rise supreme against all contenders, we've got you covered with our comprehensive list of all bosses in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, along with strategies for beating them. Onimusha: Way of the Sword - How to get Power Stones

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/musashi-standing-by-shrine.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Power Stones in Onimusha: Way of the Sword(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/onimusha-the-way-of-the-sword) are one of the most important currency types you can get. You need Power Stones to unlock most of Musashi's major skills. And yet for all their significance, Way of the Sword never tells you where or how to find them. There are two main ways of getting Power Stones. One is largely outside your control, as it happens naturally while you progress the story. The other takes a bit of tracking down, and careful exploration of each level outside of the central Kyoto hub. In this guide, we'll explain how to get Power Stones in Onimusha: Way of the Sword and what to look out for while you're searching for treasure.
