How to glide in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Rock Paper Shotgun ยป Guidesโœ Jeremy Blumโฑ 4 min read(4 months ago)

Overview & Key Takeaways

When you first start exploring the large open world of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you'll be reliant on the trusty Grapple Gun to move between Gotham's buildings and take to the skies. While handy, the Grapple Gun only propels you from one place to another and doesn't let you glide freely, which was one of the trademark methods of traversal in the Batman: Arkham games, which this Lego Batman entry takes much inspiration from.

Don't worry, though - you'll eventually pick up the gliding skill, making exploration a great deal easier. In this guide, we'll explain exactly how to glide in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, ensuring that you know exactly when you'll be able to start manoeuvring between Gotham's rooftops with ease.

How to glide in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

To glide in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you need to progress to the Wayne Industries Mission of Chapter 1. (See our full mission list for a complete rundown of every chapter in the game.)

In a scene inspired from Batman Begins, this mission sees Bruce visiting Lucius Fox in Wayne Tower. There, he obtains some upgrades to his crimefighting arsenal, including a memory cloth woven into his cape that allows him to glide great distances.

Once you've finished the Wayne Industries chapter, you'll be able to glide with ease. Simply jump from a high point and press A on your gamepad while in the air. You'll instantly start gliding, and you can then use the Left Control Stick to increase or decrease your gliding speed.

If you press down on the Left Control Stick, you'll also enter a Glide Boost, which will make Batman move faster through the air. (This technique should be very familiar to fans of the Batman: Arkham games.) Combine the Glide Boost with the Grapple Gun, and you can truly propel Batman across the map with excellent speed.

Can other characters besides Batman glide in Legacy of the Dark Knight?

Yes, all 7 playable characters in Legacy of the Dark Knight can glide - not just the caped ones like Batman, Batgirl, and Robin!

Batman and Gordon jump off a roof - with Gordon noticably wearing a GCPD-sanctioned glider - in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Batman and Gordon jump off a roof - with Gordon noticably wearing a GCPD-sanctioned glider - in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Poor Gordon - they never taught him how to do this in cop school! | Image credit: Rock Paper Shotgun/Telltale Games

In fact, the game introduces this with a somewhat hilarious scene where Batman pushes Jim Gordon off of a roof, and the soon-to-be Commissioner instantly sprouts a neat pair of GCPD-sanctioned gliding wings. It doesn't really make much sense, but just accept it - this is a Lego game, after all, and it's funny. With all those bricks lying around, it's totally within the realm of imagination for characters like Gordon, Talia, and Catwoman to build their own gliders.

And there you have it - now you know how to glide in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Onimusha: Way of the Sword - All bosses

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/rasho-gan.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) Onimusha: Way of the Sword(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/onimusha-the-way-of-the-sword) marks the triumphant return of Capcom's samurai action franchise after a twenty-year hiatus, with all of the hallmarks that it possessed back in the PlayStation 2 days, including fast action, Issen counterattacks, and plenty of screen-filling bosses. Miyamoto Musashi will need every ounce of his wits and skill to beat these contenders, many of whom are dangerously fierce and reminiscent of Soulslike opponents, even though Way of the Sword is more of a traditional hack 'n slash action adventure game. Way of the Sword offers two difficulty modes upon startup, including a Story Mode that will let you decimate most enemies in your path. But on Action Mode, none of these bosses are a walk in the park, and some will even be a challenge on Story Mode. To help Musashi rise supreme against all contenders, we've got you covered with our comprehensive list of all bosses in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, along with strategies for beating them. You need Power Stones to unlock most of Musashi's major skills. And yet for all their significance, Way of the Sword never tells you where or how to find them. There are two main ways of getting Power Stones. One is largely outside your control, as it happens naturally while you progress the story. The other takes a bit of tracking down, and careful exploration of each level outside of the central Kyoto hub. In this guide, we'll explain how to get Power Stones in Onimusha: Way of the Sword and what to look out for while you're searching for treasure.
