PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for May 2026 are EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Wednesday. Players can download the trio of PlayStation games beginning Tuesday, May 5.

EA Sports FC 26

EA Sports FC 26 is Electronic Arts' latest soccer simulation, and arrives on PlayStation Plus in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup — though you won't find that particular event in EA's game, which dropped the FIFA license in 2023. FC 26 does feature tournaments and live events, with more than 20,000 real-world players across more than 750 clubs and national teams. PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack as a special add-on entitlement as part of May's offerings. The game will be available through PS Plus on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a Soulslike action RPG, starring the female pirate warrior Wuchang, who awakens in the final years of China’s Ming Dynasty with no memory of her past. We liked it well enough in our review of the 2025 game, in which we praised Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for its "layered and deep combat system," but felt less good about its boss difficulty balancing. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will be available for PS5.

Nine Sols

Nine Sols is developer Red Candle Games' take on the 2D action-platformer genre and features Sekiro-inspired deflection-focused combat. Players take on the role of hero Yi in a battle to take down the titular Nine Sols, the rulers of a forsaken realm. Nine Sols will be available for PS4 and PS5.

PS Plus subscribers can still pick up April 2026’s PlayStation Plus Essential games — Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream — through May 4.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the lowest tier of Sony’s subscription game service. It offers online multiplayer access, a monthly assortment of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases. PlayStation Plus Essential costs $79.99 annually, $24.99 for a three-month subscription, or $9.99 monthly.

It's the inclusion of a High-Grade model kit based on the new Gundam Helix mobile suit that could make this collector's edition sought after, as it will be exclusive to the game. Gundam model kits aren't usually hard to come by as Bandai Namco regularly keeps store shelves restocked with them, but the HG Helix model looks like a rare exception to that rule. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiPllyLIvSo If you are planning to grab one, it's worth noting that HG Gundam model kits are 1/144-scale figures and are designed to appeal to casual builders with their moderate detail, minimal foil stickers, and durable design. The new trailer for the game also teased other shells that you can apply to the Helix to shake up its look, including an RX-78-2 skin and a red Zaku-inspired look that would make Char Aznable proud. Aside from the model, you'll also get a poster, reversible cover art, a pack of five promo cards, a steel case for the game disc, and DLC that includes 14 different color patterns for the Helix in the game. You won't have to wait too much longer to play it, as Gundam Rogue Orbit launches on March 5, 2027, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
