Overview & Key Takeaways

Sucker Punch's samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima is part of a major sale on the PlayStation Store

2020 might have been a terrible year for your mental health, but it was a fantastic year for video games. That 12-month stretch saw the release of several all-time bangers, including Hades, The Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima. The action-adventure game set in 13th-century Japan during the Mongol invasion earned a whopping nine nominations at The Game Awards in 2020 and took home two trophies for Art Direction and Player's Voice.

Now, as part of the PlayStation Store's Big Games, Big Deals sale, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is available for a whopping discount. The PS4-only version of Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is now $19.79 from $59.99 (67% off), while the PS5 version (which is also playable on PS4) has been discounted to $29.39 from $69.99 ($58% off).

Released in 2021, the enhanced Director's Cut edition features quite a few improvements over the base game, including improved lip-sync animations to accompany the Japanese audio track, faster load times, enhanced resolution and frame rates, haptic feedback for PS5 DualSense controllers, and 3D audio support. It also includes the Iki Island story expansion, which sees protagonist Jin Sakai investigating rumors of another Mongol incursion that forces him to relive some traumatic moments from his past.

If you're looking to flesh out your PlayStation library, there's a nice mix of recent and classic games on sale. TheResident Evil 4 remake for PS4 and PS5 is marked down to $19.99 from $49.99. Last year's indie platforming sensation Hollow Knight: Silksong gets a nice 20% discount to $15.99. The deluxe edition of another of our 2025 favorites, Silent Hill f, is half off at $39.99. One of Polygon's best games of 2023, Alan Wake 2 gets a whopping 70% discount to $17.99. Both the standard and deluxe editions of Bungie's stylish extraction shooter Marathon, released just last month, are 20% off.

PlayStation's Big Games, Big Deals sale ends on May 6.

The New Gundam Game Has A Collector’s Edition Just For Gunpla Sickos Like Me

Gundam Rogue Orbit(https://www.gamespot.com/games/gundam-rogue-orbit/) is a break from tradition for Bandai Namco, as new entries in the franchise typically debut as an anime series first, then as a line of collectible model kits. But this Gundam is arriving first as a video game--one that was shown in more detail today during the September PlayStation State of Play broadcast(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/playstation-state-of-play-september-2026-all-the-biggest-announcements-games-and-trailers/). If you're a Gundam fan, fret not, because at least one part of the traditional Gundam experience is being kept intact if you buy the $160 Rogue Orbit collector's edition. !(https://www.gamespot.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Gundam-CE.jpg?w=636) Gundam Rogue Orbit Collector's Edition Like other special editions from Bandai Namco, Gundam Rogue Orbit combines a physical copy of the game with a few physical in-game goodies. It's the inclusion of a High-Grade model kit based on the new Gundam Helix mobile suit that could make this collector's edition sought after, as it will be exclusive to the game. Gundam model kits aren't usually hard to come by as Bandai Namco regularly keeps store shelves restocked with them, but the HG Helix model looks like a rare exception to that rule. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiPllyLIvSo If you are planning to grab one, it's worth noting that HG Gundam model kits are 1/144-scale figures and are designed to appeal to casual builders with their moderate detail, minimal foil stickers, and durable design. You won't need too many tools to build one either, and the Helix design features a lot of panels and other mechanical details, so that could be a nice kit to build. The new trailer for the game also teased other shells that you can apply to the Helix to shake up its look, including an RX-78-2 skin and a red Zaku-inspired look that would make Char Aznable proud. Aside from the model, you'll also get a poster, reversible cover art, a pack of five promo cards, a steel case for the game disc, and DLC that includes 14 different color patterns for the Helix in the game. You won't have to wait too much longer to play it, as Gundam Rogue Orbit launches on March 5, 2027, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
