How to complete Shoring Up Defenses in Arc Raiders

Overview & Key Takeaways

Repair the strongholds along the coastline.

Shoring Up Defenses is one of the three starting quests in Arc Raiders' Riven Tides update. It's all about reinforcing key locations across the beach-based map and clearing out the robots that have moved in. And just for accepting the quest, Apollo will give you a Dockmaster's Detector, which you can use in the Beachcombing map condition to find buried treasure.

Below, I'll explain where you need to go to complete this quest as quickly as possible. Take note that you'll need one Arc Alloy for this mission, though you should be able to grab one during a run, given you'll also be killing Wasps and Fireflies.

How to complete Shoring Up Defenses in Arc Raiders

There are four objectives in the Shoring Up Defenses quest that you can complete in any order and across multiple matches:

Article continues below

  1. Destroy five Wasps
  2. Destroy three Fireflies
  3. Use one Arc Alloy to reinforce the Raider structure on top of any Stacking Yard Crane
  4. Board up shuttered windows in the hotel

The two most complicated steps of the Shoring Up Defenses quest are the final two, so I'll explain those in more detail in a moment.

As for the enemies you need to kill, Wasps are the small, white flying Arcs, while Fireflies are slightly larger, more armoured grey ones that shoot fire. They're found all across the map, so shoot down enough of them (aim for the fans) and be sure to loot at least one Arc Alloy.

Reinforce the Raider structure

Firstly, head to the Stacking Yard location in the northeast of Riven Tide. You then need to reach the top of any of the three cranes in the area, either by riding a zipline to the top or taking the stairsโ€”I chose the middle crane.

At the top of the crane, you'll find a flimsy sheet of metal held up with poles. Interact with the posts to reinforce them using one Arc Alloy. Again, you can either bring an Arc Alloy into the raid with you or loot it from enemies during the match.

Board up shuttered windows

Next, go to the Hotel Panorama Azzurro in the west of the map and head up to the second floor. Here you'll find various hotel rooms, some of which have their window shutters down. I boarded up the window in room 213โ€”there are numbers above the doors. Interact with the shutter to board it up with wood, completing the quest step.

While I spotted multiple rooms with matching shutters (such as 207), I met another player trying to complete this step, and they could only interact with the same shutter in room 213. If you're having trouble, just head to room 213.

Once you've completed all the objectives, return to Apollo to earn three Barricade Kits, three Lure Grenade Traps, and six Seeker Grenades.
