The games industry may be going through some rocky times, but there's never been a better moment to be a fan of video game music. With ongoing tours and one-off events celebrating beloved franchises like Final Fantasy, Sonic, Persona, and World of Warcraft, now you can enjoy your favorite nerdish pastime while also feeling like a person of culture. The latest franchise to get the live orchestral treatment is Nintendo's storied The Legend of Zelda series, which marks its 40th anniversary this year.

The tour will take place at a variety of venues in North America, Europe, and Australia throughout 2027. Tickets for many venues go on sale Sept. 30, at 12 p.m. local time. (Tickets for some locations, including Boston, Houston, and Seattle, will go on sale on dates to be announced.) According to the concert tour's official site, "Additional concerts in France, Germany, Italy and Spain are currently being planned, with details and additional cities to be announced in the near future."

The tour will kick off in North America on Feb. 22 in Chicago, followed by Europe on April 3 in London, and in Australia on May 13 in Melbourne. Fans can expect a mix of melodies from throughout the series' history, from the original Legend of Zelda released in 1986, all the way up to modern favorites like 2023's Tears of the Kingdom. There's no official word yet on pricing, which will likely vary significantly by venue, but seats for the Japan leg of the tour (which starts Jan. 23) will roughly range from $76 to $114.

We wouldn't be surprised if these shows devote a lot of attention to the Ocarina of Time remake, which will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5. The remake will feature fully symphonic, orchestrated arrangements of Koji Kondo's original compositions. It's not clear whether you'll be able to bring along your own electric ocarina to join in the fun, but sadly, you probably shouldn't. Even so, with most of the concert dates falling several months after the game's launch, you'll have plenty of time to practice your tunes.

Xbox has announced its next collaboration, and it's a partnership with Prince St. Pizza for a specially branded Gears of War pizza and a $60 pizza-cutter. Microsoft and Prince St. Pizza teamed up to make a Prototype Lancer pizza-cutter to promote this October's Gears of War: E-Day, and it's available for $60(https://shop.princestreetpizza.com/products/limited-edition-gears-of-war-prototype-lancer-pizza-cutter). To justify the steep price tag, Prince St. Pizza says it's a hefty metal cutter featuring a stainless steel blade and a handle that's meant to make you feel like you're wielding the iconic gun. The pizza-cutter also comes with the in-game pizza emblem. It does look pretty great, but it also looks like a real pain the butt to clean if you're a messy person like me. If anyone is wondering why it's called the Prototype Lancer and not just the Lancer, that's the special solution the developers came up with to explain why the heck a Lancer would even be in a prequel like E-Day(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gears-of-war-e-day-had-to-solve-one-big-lore-problem-how-do-you-get-a-lancer-into-the-game/). In the Gears of War lore, the weapon was created a year after the events of Emergence Day. As for the pizza itself, it's called the Emergence Pie, and it's themed around this October's Gears of War: E-Day, which is a prequel that tells the story of Emergence Day. The pizza includes spicy vodka red sauce and mozzarella cheese, along with proteins in the form of pepperoni and sausage. The pizza is also doused with spicy Italian chili crisp. "Rugged, relentless, and built to hit hard, it’s the kind of pie that doesn’t go quietly," reads a line from Microsoft's blog post. The Emergence Pie is available now through November 1 at Prince St. Pizza locations in the US and Canada. The single location in Canada can be found in Toronto. Anyone who buys the Emergence Pie also gets a code to unlock a pizza emblem in E-Day. Gears of War: E-Day releases on October 6 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and it's available at launch via Xbox Game Pass. People can buy the $100 premium edition to play five days early.
