I've spent the last few days moseying around The Witcher 3. Specifically, The Witcher 3's new, remastered edition (The Witcher 3 Remastered), which gussies up the now-11-years-old game with new lighting, textures, and other assorted remaster gubbins.
As ever with these sorts of things, there's already a back-and-forth about whether the new graphics are an improvement or a downgrade on the game we had already. Personally, though? I think it looks great. More than anything else, it's the lighting that keeps stopping me in my tracks, particularly around sunset and sunrise. The Witcher's war-crime-stuffed world has never been more sumptuously lit.
So here's a gallery of the various times the game stopped me in my drags with some artful light shafts. A little good news: if you don't like the new look, for whatever reason, the game's Steam version already lets you roll back to its classic and "next-gen" versions, so you're not stuck with the new graphics.
