In Full Bloom is a sort of creepy-feeling Tamagotchi-style game where there is a giant… creature… which simply needs to eat and eat until it’s eaten enough to get off this strange planet. And, no matter how much you feed it, it never feels fed enough.
Everyone loves something, I suppose. The creature in In Full Bloom is a blob with lots of teeth and a very long tongue, and all it wants to do is eat. At first, it’s very small, with only a few teeth, but this quickly changes as you grab and throw stuff in it’s large mouth.

The noises that the game makes are something to get used to, as they sound like chewing and swallowing (sometimes even throwing up), while it consumes. A lot of the game is dragging different items into this creatures mouth, to keep it alive and watch it grow. Soon it gets bigger, so you can drag more of the things around it, which it will continue to eat.
It becomes almost systematic feeding the giant creature, grabbing the next thing and placing it into it’s mouth. You can tell it’s growing and getting bigger as it continues to change the environment that it was once living in, consuming the creatures around it. The growth stages are, in itself, interesting, especially as it becomes too big to live in the world it was once so small in.

I played some of In Full Bloom at Gamescom, where I found the whole thing to be pretty strange, almost horror-like but not quite there. You can currently play the demo and wishlist the game on Steam ahead of it’s release.
