Own a shop and find rhythm in ‘Mr. Records’

Mr. Records puts you into the role of George, an old dreamer who is able to become one with the music that he listens too. After retirement, he has decided to open up a record shop bellow his home, with new records to sell each and every day.

Mr. Records has two parts to the actual game. The first bit of the game is about acquiring new records and getting them placed within your shop. You are able to purchase and then play the records. Playing them brings your character in, where he can slide, punch, and make his way through rhythm-based levels. These levels are SO colorful, match the music perfectly, and always have a lot of real joy within them.

The slipping and sliding aspect of the records just feel right, if that makes sense, and it’s a great way to get the flow of the records before adding them into your shop. When you are done and ready to open your store, it becomes time to see your stock and see who is coming in. Mr. Record has you primarily recommending records to your customers, either from what they’ve seen but maybe don’t quite remember or from the vibes that they want you to match.

You will need to match these records for them to sell. Though the days themselves are short, there are different characters to meet, strange phone calls in the evenings with your old friends, and a lot of music to make your way through. It’s an extremely fun rhythm game with a lot of different worlds that you can play through, which is quite fitting.

I got the chance to play a demo of Mr. Records at Gamescom. There isn’t a release date yet, but you can wishlist the game on Steam.
