Steam's Chart-topping FPS Wardogs Finally Gets Official Console Release Window

The Wardogs release time is finally upon us, after a number of hugely popular beta windows and closed playtests. To celebrate the Steam Early Access release date of Wardogs, the team at Bulkhead has released a launch trailer that takes direct inspiration from the classic Halo 3 trailer, "Believe."

Alongside the trailer, Wardogs now has a console release window on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Bulkhead announced Thursday that Wardogs will eventually come to PS5 and Xbox in 2028. You can wishlist the game on both platforms today, although you'll be waiting for a long time before you can finally play the first-person shooter, especially if it's released during the back end of the year. By that point, there's a chance we may be in the early days of the next generation of consoles, so it could also come to PlayStation 6 and Xbox's Project Helix.

The tagline for the Wardogs launch, "play like you used to," references "an era when multiplayer games were social, unpredictable and impossible to put down," reads a press release. With the beta hitting a peak of 245,118 players according to SteamDB, there's a huge appetite for this FPS game.

“Wardogs is ambitious, rough around the edges and still has a long way to go, but that is exactly what Early Access should be,” said Joe Brammer, CEO at Bulkhead. “We’re putting the game in players’ hands, listening to what they tell us and taking the risks needed to turn it into something that can last. More than anything, we want people to get online, talk to each other and have the kind of fun in an FPS that we grew up having.”
