Professor Layton And The New World Of Steam Arrives This December

The latest entry came out for the iOS and Android way back in 2017, and a port of that game is the closest thing we got to a new entry during the entirety of the original Nintendo Switch's lifetime. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has been in the works for a while now, but it wasn't until today's Nintendo Direct that we finally got a release date: December 10, 2026. First revealed in February of 2023, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam sees the return of Herschel Layton – his daughter was the star of 2017's Layton Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy. The series combines a mystery narrative with a wide spread of puzzle minigames, and today's trailer says New World of Steam has the "biggest collection of puzzles in series history." Professor Layton and the New World of Steam comes out on December 10, 2026 on PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.
