Kingdom Hearts 4 Worlds Spoiled in Massive Steam Achievements Leak

Overview & Key Takeaways

Most, if not all, of the worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts 4 have been spoiled in a huge Steam achievements leak.

Exophase, a website designed for tracking video game achievements, and SteamDB, a third-party database covering everything on Steam, appear to have been the recipients of a whole host of achievement lists for unreleased Steam games. One of the most notable of these is Kingdom Hearts 4, which isn't due to be released until late 2027.

While not every achievement in the leaked list for Kingdom Hearts 4 has a description, there are some that give enormous hints about the worlds Sora and co. will be travelling to in the upcoming Disney action RPG.

Star Wars appears to be confirmed, thanks to the achievement "Desert Do-Gooder" referencing a "Galaxy Far, Far Away," while Haunted Mansion is directly mentioned in another achievement. Toy Story appears to be making a return, because the Toy Box world shows up again, and Zootopia is coming for the first time, with Savanna Central mentioned. Land of the Dead, the world for Coco also features, but that was previously announced at D23.

Meanwhile, we'll also be returning to Quadratum, the Tokyo-inspired world introduced in Kingdom Hearts 3 that players could access via Toy Box, as it was the setting for the fictional video game, Verum Rex. A new world called Monochrome Origins is mentioned in the achievement "Hotsy-Totsy Helper-Outer" and while that doesn't seem to link to any existing Disney media, Reddit user Quiccies has pieced together that it's likely going to be where players can find Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as "hotsy-totsy" is his catchphrase in other Disney games.

Thanks to another Reddit user, Kurai_46, for spotting that Wall-E is likely to feature in Kingdom Hearts 4 too. While not mentioned by name, the "It's Not Junk To Me" achievement asks you to "fill up the treasure collection of the custodian for a certain Quadratum rooftop," and Kurai rightfully points out that Wall-E is a custodian robot who collects old junk and treasures it.

Finally, there's a world known as the "Imagineer Planet" mentioned, and while that doesn't tie in to anything obvious from Disney as far as we can tell, Walt Disney Imagineering is the name of the research and development center for Disney theme parks in real life. Interestingly, while the other world-based achievements require completing all requests in their respective worlds, "Planet Producer" only asks you to complete any mission. Could the challenges held within Imagineer Planet be either infinite, or more difficult, to the point where asking the player to complete all of them would be too tall an order?

You can find the full list of leaked games, along with links to each of their achievement lists, over on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. This includes huge games that are still a long way out, such as Judas and Persona 6, some with confirmed release dates like Metro 2039 and Final Fantasy Resonance, and completely unannounced games based on existing IPs like a possible Twin Peaks game and a Sea of Thieves sequel or spin-off.

Mike "x3sphere" Bendel, the owner of Exophase, explained via the ResetEra forum that he believes this leak is due to an error at Valve: "Seems like a possible screw up on Valve's end, a bunch of games with achievements that should be private are accessible through the API right now and that's why they got scanned into the site. I usually never see games without an actual name pop up with achievements, yet over the past hour or so a bunch have (when there's an unknown name we just set it to the AppID)."

Major Steam Leak Reveals Achievements For Persona 6, Kingdom Hearts 4, And Unannounced Games

A massive Steam leak has revealed hundreds of achievements for upcoming games, including highly anticipated titles like Kingdom Hearts 4, Persona 6, and Fable. On the website Exophase--which tracks achievements for games on Steam, Epic Games Store, and more--the achievement lists for numerous in-development games were uploaded to it and made public. It looks like the site trackers scraped up all the achievements uploaded to Steam recently, resulting in potential story spoilers and the reveal of several unannounced--or canceled--titles. "Seems like a possible screw-up on Valve's end, a bunch of games with achievements that should be private are accessible through the API right now, and that's why they got scanned into the site," Exosphere owner Mike Bendel AKA x3sphere wrote in a ResetEra post(https://www.resetera.com/threads/persona-6-and-other-unrevealed-achievement-lists-are-leaking-via-steam-walking-dead-tomb-raider-shrek-kh4-more.1627462/page-4post-160223521). "I usually never see games without an actual name pop up with achievements, yet over the past hour or so, a bunch have (when there's an unknown name, we just set it to the AppID)." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3NrZKxdh6Q It's worth noting that many of these achievement lists appear to be incomplete due to the use of placeholder text, but many of them are rife with spoilers. While we won't mention them here, the leak has revealed more of the Disney-themed worlds(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-weirdest-worlds-that-could-technically-be-in-kingdom-hearts-4/) that players can travel to in Kingdom Hearts 4(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/kingdom-hearts-4-delay-you-say-no-way-series-co-creator-states/), and story details for Persona 6(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/persona-6-is-finally-official-after-years-of-waiting/) have surfaced. People are, of course, digging deep into the list, so if you're looking to go into any particular game without fear of spoilers, it might be time to start muting certain keywords before it's released. This isn't the first time Steam has been responsible for leaking data. Last month, a security breach saw 13TB of information on unreleased games and prototypes uploaded to online spaces and made available for download. This leak covered games uploaded to Steam between 2003 and 2013, including pre-release builds of major games from the era, such as Spore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and an early Portal 2 prototype.
