Overview & Key Takeaways
In this guide, you find all the hidden treasure locations in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and the rewards you earn by opening each chest.
The hidden treasures in Onimusha: Way of the Sword are a series of side quests that start once you reach the "To Live is to Suffer" main quest. When you accept one of these missions, a green circle appears on the map, indicating where you must look for the chest. To pinpoint their exact locations, you must follow the hints in the old drawings that the quest givers provide.
If the prospect of checking the streets of Eastern Kyoto for forgotten treasures while demons try to kill you doesn't sound appealing, don't fret. We've put together this guide explaining where to find all hidden treasures in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

You can start the first Hidden Treasure side quest by talking to a woman northwest of the Gojo Street - West Spirit Mirror. The Old Drawing No. 1 shows that the treasure is on top of a building, where you can see a pagoda in the background, which is "at the top of Kiyomizu-zaka Slope."
To find this treasure, from the Kiyomizu-zaka Spirit Mirror, turn right into a narrow path that will take you behind some buildings. To your left, you will see a ladder. Use it and, once on top of the building, you will find another ladder. Climb it to reach the roof that the drawing depicts. Now, you must use your gauntlet to make the chest appear.

You unlock the Hidden Treasure No. 2 quest by talking to a man near the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror, and he will give you the Old Drawing No. 2. This time, there are two important visual hints: the pagoda in the background and a ladder. Besides that, the drawing's description says that the treasure is "where the Buddhas overlook the flow."
The second hidden treasure chest is west of the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Follow the narrow street down to find the ladder on the right side. Climb down it, turn west, and you will locate the small waterfall with Buddha statues on top of it. Like with the previous treasure, you must use your gauntlet to make the chest appear.
Hidden Treasure No. 3 location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword

You unlock the Hidden Treasure No. 3 quest by talking to a woman on the north side of the map, west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. You'll get the Old Drawing No. 3, which shows that the treasure is near a gate that opens to some sort of garden. The description reads: "at the temple where dragons soar."
Unlike the previous two drawings, the third one lacks any landmarks that could help you locate the treasure chest. However, you have the "dragons" hint. If you consider the area where the quest suggests you can find the hidden treasure, you might remember the building east of the Kami River - East Spirit Mirror, where you faced two genma brothers. Head to the arena where you fought them, but before entering the main building, turn right to access the east side of the garden. Walk near the gate to find the chest, which you can reveal by using your gauntlet.
Hidden Treasure No. 4 location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1 fine silk cloth and 2 power stones

To start the Hidden Treasure No. 4 quest, go to Shijo Street on the north side of the map, and talk to the man selling geta. He will give you the Old Drawing No. 4, which shows the outside corner of a wraparound veranda from where you can see a pagoda in the distance.
The place you're looking for is on the southeastern side of the map. The closest Spirit Mirror is the Gojo Street - East one. Teleport to it, climb the stairs on the right side of the Spirit Mirror, and walk on the wall to cross over the gap. Next, take the path to the left and follow it, always heading northeast. At the highest part of this area, you will find a few large stone steps. Climb them to reach the building you've been looking for. The hidden treasure chest is on the left side of the veranda.
Hidden Treasure No. 5 location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword

To unlock the Hidden Treasure No. 5 side quest, you must talk to a woman on the northern side of the map, west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. After explaining the mysterious armored ghost who asked her to find Musashi, she will give you the Old Drawing No. 5, which shows only part of a building's roof and a street beside it. The drawing's description says "The highest place in the capital."
Based on where the quest indicates you can find the chest, there's only one place that fits the "highest place" description: the Yasaka Pagoda. Head east of the Rokudo-chinnoji Temple and enter the area beside the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Turn right to find the building's entrance. You will have to climb some flights of stairs, but eventually you will reach an opening that lets you access the roof. Just go to the south side of it to find the chest by using your gauntlet.
