Even GTA 6 Is Poking Fun At Naughty Dog’s Lack Of New Games

There are a number of reasons for that, as the increased complexity of developing modern video games means that a project can take several years to complete. The multi-year development and eventual cancellation of The Last of Us Online also consumed massive studio resources for years and ended without a finished product.
In the PS5 era, Naughty Dog's output has consisted of remastered editions and PC ports of its Uncharted and The Last of Us games. The studio's next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, is still listed as a PS5 game, and another report claims that the studio is crunching hard to have it out by mid-2027. If the game does arrive next year, it'll be the first new release from Naughty Dog that isn't a remake or a remaster since 2020's The Last of Us Part 2, and it's rumored that a second team is working on The Last of Us: Part III.

The GTA 6 leaker hasn't been identified yet, but former Rockstar North director Obbe Vermeij has commented on the situation and he believes that they aren't as big a deal as the internet would have you believe--or at least, they aren't nearly as bad as the infamous Hot Coffee scandal.
