Here is the answer to today's Connections puzzle on Saturday, 15th August:

• 🟨 Yellow: Exhausted (Beat, Fried, Spent, Worn Out)
• 🟩 Green: Segment (Leg, Phase, Stage, Stretch)
• 🟦 Blue: Ending in Units of Length (Chamomile, Grinch, Hotfoot, Lanyard)
• 🟪 Purple: Ending in Synonyms for Follow Secretly (Beanstalk, Eyeshadow, Hightail, Soundtrack)

In terms of Connections puzzles, this one was definitely tricky! Connections usually follows a somewhat predictable pattern that you can recognize when you've been following along with the puzzle for long enough. This one broke the mold. The purple group is notorious for throwing a bit of wordplay in the mix, and sometimes, that involves hiding words inside others.

This puzzle had two categories that did that—the purple category and the blue category. Even a Connections veteran wouldn't expect two groups to follow such a difficult structure! It just goes to show, you can't get too comfortable with the grid.
