Anime-style RPG Outerplane turned up the heat with its summer update last month. Now it’s embracing the darkness with a new patch that’s all about demons and saints.
Developer MAJOR9 is dropping the content injection - which introduces a formidable new Demiurge hero and a story-driven event dungeon - today, and it arrives as the game nears a major milestone in the shape of an imminent PC launch via Steam.

The aforementioned new character who debuts in the update is Demiurge Saeran, a Dark-element Ranger-type hero with a darker, more twisted presence. Saeran is a returning hero from the game, now taking on a more sinister form as she confronts her demonic side as Demiurge Saeran.

What sets Saeran apart on the battlefield is her unique dual-form mechanic. During combat, she can shift from her Saint form into her Demon form once her HP reaches a specific threshold. However, the transformation is one-way, meaning Saeran cannot return to her Saint form for the remainder of the battle. Once her demonic state takes over, she unleashes a devastating attack on all enemies while also granting supportive buffs to strengthen her allies. How’s that for multi-tasking?

Alongside Saeran's debut comes the limited-time event dungeon, Reverie of Falling Petals. Here, Outerplane players can embark on a special expedition alongside Saeran to experience a new storyline and discover a different side to her personality.
By clearing dungeon stages and completing event missions, players will earn exclusive currency to trade in the event shop for character growth materials and other essential items.

To sweeten the deal, MAJOR9 is running a suite of participation events throughout the update window. Logging in daily, clearing daily missions, and taking part in the Lucky Capsule event will net you a hoard of rewards, including Call of the Demiurge.

This update is just the beginning of a busy autumn for Outerplane. MAJOR9 revealed that it is preparing a wave of celebrations for the game's first service transfer anniversary coming this October. Ahead of that milestone, the studio plans to expand the game's reach by officially launching Outerplane on Steam, bringing the title to PC players worldwide.

For international fans, specifically those who are planning to attend the Tokyo Game Show 2026, there’s a chance to hear about these new developments and what comes next first-hand, as the game will be exhibited there from 17th September to 21st September.

Outerplane fans can download the latest update now, and if you’re new to the game and want to snap it up to check out the Demiurge content, it’s available to download for free on iOS and Android.

Epic Games Store expands voice chat access across multiple platforms, including mobile

The Epic Games Store for mobile is set to expand access to voice chat for users, now allowing players across multiple devices to communicate easily. You'll even be able to move voice chat seamlessly across devices, as this move also follows the expansion of text chat across multiple platforms earlier in the year. It's a fairly minor change, but one that has big implications for the Epic Games Store on mobile, and farther afield. Up until now, one of the major criticisms of the Epic Games Store has always been that it paled in comparison to other storefronts, such as Steam, in terms of social features. ... Epic Games’ New Voice Chat Lets You Keep Talking To Friends While Playing Different Games

Epic Games has announced that it's going to make it easier than ever to hang out and talk with friends across different platforms by launching Epic Parties. This voice chat service will work across Fortnite (on all supported platforms), the Epic Games Store launcher (PC, iOS, and Android), and the Epic Games app (iOS and Android). For example, you can start a voice party from your phone or PC launcher, ring up a friend who is busy playing Fortnite on their PlayStation, and even transfer that call from your phone to your PC when you get back to your desk. This means that you can sit in on a voice call through the Epic PC Launcher while playing completely different games from your Epic library. Other benefits include a seamless approach to grouping friends together, as Epic says that if you're in a voice party with friends and everyone decides to open Fortnite, then the game will automatically drop you all into the same lobby together. This new feature is competing directly with Discord, which has been the go-to third-party app for users for several years. Epic's built-in alternative aims to let users bring their social list, voice channels, and digital avatar with them across multiple platforms and from game to game, whether you are on iOS, Android, PC, or console. Epic has also hinted that these voice and avatar systems will be integrated directly into Unreal Engine 6, and the tools will be offered to other developers in time. For now, it's currently rolling out to Fortnite, and Epic Parties will be available in Rocket League next year. According to Epic's year-in-review stats(https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/people-spent-more-but-played-less-on-the-epic-games-store-in-2025/2900-7449/), over $1 billion was spent in the store in 2025, and it reached an all-time record of 78 million monthly active users on PC. Earlier this year, Epic spoke more about its plans to further improve its digital storefront(https://www.gamespot.com/articles/epic-explains-its-blend-of-blockbusters-and-smaller-games-for-weekly-freebies/1100-6538882/). "Our goal is to keep building a storefront and launcher that players want to engage with and use to grow their game library, but we need to be able to connect players with the game they want to play at the time they want to play it," Kyle Billings, director of strategy and business operations at the Epic Games Store, said to GameSpot.
