Beast of Reincarnation: How to change language

Rock Paper Shotgun » Guides✍ Jeremy Blum⏱ 4 min read(about 1 month ago)

Overview & Key Takeaways

Beast of Reincarnation features both English and Japanese voice-overs, and it's not immediately clear how to switch between them. Considering that you're reading this guide, English may be your preferred language, or perhaps you want something that sounds a little more appropriate for the ruined Kanto region of Japan that this game takes place in. Whatever your preference, if you've already started the game, accessing Settings only lets you change the language of in-game text, not voice-overs.

In this quick guide, we'll explain exactly how to change the voice-over language in Beast of Reincarnation, and we'll also offer our thoughts on which voice-over choice is better - English or Japanese.

How to change language in Beast of Reincarnation

To change the voice-over language in Beast of Reincarnation, you need to be on the game's Title Menu. Navigate over to Settings, then select Language. You'll be able to choose between Japanese and English voice-overs, and you can also select which language you'd like the in-game text to be.

Which voice-over language is better - English or Japanese?

While this is a highly subjective matter, personally, I think the Japanese voice-over language option is better suited for Beast of Reincarnation, though there are some advantages to choosing English.

Beast of Reincarnation features lots of cutscenes, and as someone who studied Japanese in university and still understands a bit of it, I personally believe almost all of the cutscenes sound more natural in the game's native Japanese. There are a number of pauses during cutscene conversations, as well as repeated names and phrases, that are commonplace fixtures of speaking in Japanese, but come across as stilted in English, with the voice actors obviously forced to match their dialogue to the movements of characters' lips.

That said, if you aren't particularly fussed about the story, the English dub is fine during Beast of Reincarnation's gameplay. Emma frequently comments on clues that Koo has found as she's traversing the world, and conversations with Brad and Kagura are also commonplace. If you can't understand Japanese by ear, reading subtitles for these conversations when you're in the middle of a hectic boss battle will split your attention, and possibly wreck a good parry opportunity.

That finishes this quick guide to how to change language in Beast of Reincarnation, as well as how the English and Japanese dubs compare. We've also got another quick guide on how to save in Beast of Reincarnation if you were unaware, as well as how to get the Red Key and the best skills to unlock first. It may not be the longest dungeon in the game, but it's likely the most layered, with multiple secret passages, and more than a few nods to one of the oldest and most iconic levels in gaming. It's also far more challenging than most areas you can find in Fainweald, which is why we've left it until now to tackle. But now, it's time. Below I'll walk you through exactly how to 100% the Desolate Keep, revealing every secret with easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. With everything else in Fainweald now conquered, it's time for us to journey to these far north reaches and cleanse the land of its last scant bits of corruption. Below, I've put together an easy to follow step-by-step guide to the entire region of the Sanguine Caverns, including every dungeon, every foe and boss encounter, and every tucked away valuable item - of which there are several in this area of Fainweald! The Blood of Dawnwalker: All endings explained

!(https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/TBODCoenEnding.jpg?width=690&quality=85&format=jpg&auto=webp) The Blood of Dawnwalker(https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/games/the-blood-of-dawnwalker) has one main goal for Coen – to save his family. You spend 30 days (and nights) figuring out your best defence against Brencis, levelling up skills, collecting armour and teaming up with allies. But it turns out defeating him isn't the only way to get everyone home safe. In fact, sometimes defeating him might still lead to the demise of your nearest and dearest. I played through the game's four full story endings to see what would happen and, unfortunately, it's bad news for Lunka at almost every turn. There's also three additional early endings you can try on for size, which we'll cover at the end. In this guide I'll fully explain how to get all endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and what can happen to your family along the way in each case.
